An Orgy Of Felt Tip Pens!!!

From old school felt tip to modern porous point - I pay homage to the cheapest and most common of all fountain pens.  Yes, they are fountain pens.  Enjoy!

An Orgy Of Felt Tip Pens!!!

Comments

I can't really blame Sister Mary Whatever for her reaction - I'm pretty sure it's scientifically proven that Satan invented felt-tipped pens.

Have you tried Coptic.? Replaceable nibs and refillable

Wow! I used to LOVE those pens in 70s! I loved to draw when I was a kid. I remember every Christmas my parents would get me a 40 piece "Marvy Markers" felt tip color pen selection that were housed in a tin. But, being left handed, as much ink wound up on my palm as did the paper.

Another great Fran pen collection video. You must have enough to stock a stationary shop! In the spirit of "you can never have too many pens", https://imgur.com/Qgy2YzG and https://imgur.com/Bb32III . for some reason I chose the Fountain Pentel over the Papermate over 40 years ago. Can't remember why. In the early 90s I started using the Staedtler Triplus Finepoint for my cricket scoring and had to have another set for every day writing. I still mainly use the Pilot, but I found some old Pentels recently and they still work after nearly 20 years.

It's not possible to have too many pens.

Well, today I learnt the proper definition of a fountain pen and the fact that a felt tip is one of it's number. I am a lousy writer and artistically disabled, so my use of pens pencils and crayons and paint is virtually non existent. My limit these days is a paint by numbers app on my phone. Still an interesting video though, I always take any opportunity to broaden my knowledge. I am always impressed with if not a little envious of the broadness of your talents! :-)

TIL the collective noun for felt-tip pens is "an orgy".

Thank you Fran, for increasing my appreciation of the humble felt-tip. I have drawers-full of them!

Hi Fran...neat demo. I love doodling with these things.

Oh, boy, are we old... :o(

Get thee to an inkwell!

The Parker gel refill for me. I think I have a lifetime supply, which is depressing.

When I was in 3rd grade, in the 1960's, we were required to take penmanship class which of course I flunked. The class was taught using fountain pens. The fountain pens used cartridges and I have many fond and joyous memories of flicking my pen at my fellow class mates to cover them in ink stains (I took several hits myself). One day I showed up to school with one of my mother's Flair pens. People used to write letters in those days and my Mom was a prolific letter writer. My teacher, Sister Mary Whatever, yelled and yelled and told me to never bring one of those filthy pens to school again. They cause you to write poorly, bleed through your school paper, and encourage lascivious day dreaming. All this from a bloody felt tip pen! Anyways, I never brought another Flair pen to school again. BTW, I flicked Sister Whatever's black habit with my fountain pen during penmanship class the very next day. Amen.

TWSBI and Lamy are my favorite fountain pens but I will check out those Cross models after seeing your demo.
