Leaky Alkaline Batteries!!!!

btw- I was under the impression that Duracell manufactured Powercell as the industrial variety of their battery.

2020-09-02 16:00:59 +0000 UTCI have kind of moved on from batteries, to converting stuff to run off 5.1 volts USB. It's fairly simple thing to do and just using ohms law to calculate the resistor (if needed) and P=VI to check the power so that you can use the appropriate value powerwise resistor. No really rocket science but a damn good hack to save money and NO LEAkY Batteries either.

I have also in more frustrated moments when discovering a destroyed device thanks to rotten batteries had the idea that leaking batteries are a significant factor in planned obsolescence engineering. Product life cycles are designed to service short term profit. Good analysis of consumer batteries and helpful ideas on how to deal with this problem. Thanks!

2020-07-23 09:41:38 +0000 UTCWhoa, GP Greencells. My workplace gets those in bulk, they're in all the multimeters we've got around the place. I'm curious about your experiences with silver button cells, though, they're probably a bit pricy but they're not supposed to leak, at least on paper.
