I definitely like using my fancy Excalibur food dehydrator for drying filament, I worry less about getting things too hot for the filament, and the airflow helps... I also use it for drying PC boards after washing water-soluble flux off. My favorite scheme for filament storage is 5 gallon buckets with the snap on screw tops with seals.

Yeah. It is tips like this that will catch the unaware. Myself I come from and engineering background and had the same issues of humidity with arc welding rods. Desiccants (emphasis the 'cant' part more) can only do so much. If it rains a lot were you are then you need to consider this when storing filament. Thanks Fran.

I live in the Southwest - less than 50% humidity is not a problem! :-)
