Vent Hood MkII

I drafted up an updated vent hood box type face that I'll have to make in the upcoming weeks to really use the printer.  You'll have to click the attachment to see it.....   I'm still  going around and around with Patreon support about the picture posting issue.  Basically, they refuse to tell me what script is running the image hosting and so I have no way to troubleshoot it.  Does everybody just run all scripts all the time on all their systems and accept all cookies from everyone and store them all forever?  Am I the only one on the planet who is NOT doing that now?  I'm such a dinosaur.  And this is what you get not opting all-in on everything.   (sigh)

Oh. I posted a comment on the video about using center taps to merge the two parts. Good wooden glue and it’s solid. :) My father was a furniture maker, so I learned a lot of that stuff from him. :) you have a very steep angle, but I’d still go with having them horizontal, just use longer taps.

Oh my... PLEASE get in contact... I can help you out SOooo much and alleviate some of your frustrations with the printer and accessories...

Knowing the web devs that companies like Patreon tend to hire, its highly probable that even they actually don't know what domains the image scripts are severed from. Even more likely that the dev that last worked on the image widget, let alone created it, already quit and went somewhere else. Your only reasonable option would be to narrow it down yourself by enabling half, see if it works, and slowing narrowing down what scripts are required.

I use a dedicated virtual machine for things like patreon and facebook. That virtual has nothing "interesting" on it.

I have my system closed to anything I don't want, or keep. Just about everything runs for me. Now and again I clean out everything, cookies, cache, history, mouse droppings and politician's promises . It all works when I come back.

Yes, this. She’s a infosec person, and would probably either know which scripts matter or know someone who can figure it out. Ewen

FWIW, my cookie approach these days is to accept most cookies temporarily, and then have a browser plugin delete them automatically a few minutes after the relevant page is closed. Plus I also discard basically all cookies when I close my browser (usually at least once a day). That keeps the cookie tracking down to a dull roar, but lets most sites actually work. (There’s a lot of “only works with all cookies and scripts” out there, as no one tests anything else.) Ewen

It does load ok in Chrome.

For some reason I can't load the new-box.jpg. I'm using the latest Firefox.

I tried inches at school and got confused. 15cm sounds better than 6 inches. I hope the MK2 works for you. Best wishes.

Reach out to @snubs. I am sure she can help you. She is on Patreon too (Shannon Morse) and post pictures all the time.

Like the sketch

Unless you mean scripts like shell scripts, but even with that there's the nasty trend of projects doing "just pipe the output of curl directly into your shell to install" which seems like it's just *begging* to be abused

"Does everybody just run all scripts all the time on all their systems and accept all cookies from everyone and store them all forever?" Yyyyep. The modern web is predicated on the idea that you won't ever touch anything about the defaults of your browser, and Javascript is a very easy language to learn, so just make everything in Javascript and offload that processing power onto the clients, what could go wrong??
