1990 Pocket Television Teardown!

You sound settled in your lab.

Had one of the Original Casio versions as well. Seemed like a good idea at the time. Pretty nifty tech and the had a digital tuner of sorts...

My father passed in April, He was big into inkograph pens and would want them to be loved. If you want one or two I can link you a video and let you pick. No hard feelings if you have no interest but with your love of drafting and writing utensils I immediately thought of you being a good home for a couple of them. Msg me if you have interest.

I thought when you said you were doing the teardown inside the TV that you were going to play the whole teardown on the screen. I thought it was a bold choice but I'm glad I was wrong haha.

That was really neat.

That put the Fran Channel on a new frequency :D

Loved the intro and outro. There certainly are many teardowns of pocket TVs there on YouTube, but this may be the first from the inside!

Nice video Fran. Who wouldn't love one of those back in the 90's. I found the PocketVison 22 in a 1990 Radio Shack catalog archive. It's on page 91 and cost $219.95. https://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Catalogs/Radio-Shack/Radio-Shack-1990.pdf

super! Thanks for the last shot with the camera. You've got everything!

I've got one of the Sony versions. After the Walkman, the Watchman was their next portable media device, I think.

Fran, I still have one of these, but mine is a Casio. I guess you could use it if you can get a digital to analog converter like there was when they changed over from analog to digital TV. You may, by the time you get all the gear together, need a wheelbarrow to cart it all around with you. Thanks for the video.

Reminds me of the children programs at the early days of video bluescreen, where they would have the presenters walking around in miniature size between every day house-hold objects

I've got a couple of portable TVs in my hoard, but I've been keeping my eyes out for something even littler like this.

Absolutely brilliant!
