Personally i don't know how they can demolish a structure with people in it they would need a risk assessment in the UK & the Health and safety (HSE) could be contacted , i don't know if an equivalent organisation exists in the US but if it does get them involved after all its potentially effecting your health from dust and god knows what's in that.

Distribution of wealth has become so unbalanced. I read today that 26 billionaires own the same wealth as the poorest 3.8 billion people... when did this become acceptable? How bad will it get before we run out of bread – will they let us eat brioche? Power to you Fran and power to the people!

What if I number of your true Patreon's offered to donate to a fund raiser to cover the cost the suggestion of Robyn VK6XRE to go to Florida, and as reward to us Patreon's do footage from NASA :-) I checked on-line and you can hire accommodation for $100 per night between now and March 31, you would need to raise less than $10k to cover travel and accommodation and a moving company to move everything into storage. You deserve a physical and mental break and it will give you some rest and head space to plan the future, and post some exciting new footage, I will never get to see NASA so I would welcome a Fran tour !!!

In many countries most/all leases have a term promising the tenant “Quiet Enjoyment” of the tenancy. Which pulling the building down while tenants are there quite probably violates. Enforcing such terms is non-trivial though when faced with a landlord clearly intending to play hardball. (Possibly something to consider *after* moving out rather than before.) I’m sorry, but not surprised, to hear the destruction has resumed. Ewen

I have an attorney but property owners have written the laws in Philly since before the Rizzo era. There are no tenants rights in this situation. Sure, my lawyer would be glad to take my case at $450/hr and litigate till the cows come home. If I had a quarter million to throw at the problem I might get some satisfaction.

You have a lease until July - you should (emphasis SHOULD) have complete access to your space until July. My son had a band that practiced in my basement. Only during daytime hours. Some neighbor called the police with a noise complaint at around 2:00 in the afternoon. I had to tell them no more practices at my house. If it was neighbors in your building, and they were making noise like this, they would be expected to stop. Is it possible to just call the police with a noise complaint? Let the police tell the workers they are too loud, or cite them? If the new management of your building wants you out before July, then let him buy out the remainder of your lease and pay moving expenses. I know this is all "Well if this happened to me, *I* would..." nonsense, but I'm hoping to give you some alternatives. Construction or not, if you have a lease, how can they deny you the use of property you are leasing? I know you previously said you didn't want to cause a fuss and take a chance on being blacklisted for renting property - but at this point you have a lease that lasts for a good, long time... I hope you find some solutions to your issues here. I'm hoping for the best for you.

The GOP has ensured that enforcement budgets are slashed so that laws can't be enforced. Besides, there is effectively no EPA during the shutdown. Maybe the local building and/or health department.

Bummer. One defense you may have is that the building is unsafe due to the demolition work and should be discontinued until the tenants are out. Also with the asbestos, have you contacted the EPA? That could stop the demolition work for a while while they fight a "cease and desist" order from the EPA if they are not following proper handling and disposal methods.
