DIY Handheld Voice Recorder With Cartridges!!!

Oh, so satisfying! I take a look into the process I went through converting my prototype audio recorder into a real ergonomic handheld device. And it works! Was there ever any doubt? Enjoy!

Yup. Enjoyed this. Fun. You look happy. Best wishes.

I like the video and to see you build things. It looks so well designed (apart from the keying) and you make it look so easy.

Super-cool project, love the case. 3d printing really changed the game on that front, eh? Would it be difficult to add a line-in jack to the recorder? I don't know what you're recording clips for, but that occurred to me when I was wondering if you were going to sample from your videos or editing software.

That's pretty much the idea, yes...

Fran Blanche

It operates on cool - that's all that really mattered.

One day, people will gather their own energy and make their own stuff, and the industrial revolution will give way to yet another age dare I say in just the nick of time before the industrial age creams our one and only home in space.

You rock too Fran!!! :-)

Great build! Fran, you could make this into a FranLab version of the "Mr T In Your Pocket". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7UwFCN7uhp4

'This isn't a production thing, so I don't need to key the header' - quite right Fran ! It's your thing, you can have it as un-idiot-proof as you want :o) I never key headers either, just mark one end with an arrow in case I'm tired.... I like the 3D case too, and the BIG 70s microswitch - entirely appropriate ! Could you show us the circuit you ended up with, just for interest ? What you did for the filter particularly.... Atb, Dave

This is me. I'll make a thing or gadget, share it, brag it, then get bored of it and move on to the next project. I have yet to master the next-to-last step: Give it away. They're everywhere now, and each has become Precious.

that is awesome!! great project!

Love what you do with your 3D printer, Fran! Why light the switch? Is that lit by an LED or incandescent? Seems like a waste of battery energy. You know the switch is depressed - your thumb is on it! ;) Glad to see you are back to normal Fran.

Did I miss something? This seems like an application of now ancient technology. It's fun but is it anything more than a new "Ghost Adventures" ghost-busting device? 😃
