Thanks Fran, that's really interesting. I always thought "The Kinks" - "You really got me" was the first commercial record to use deliberate distortion, although I believe the accidental distortion story about was the same.. I'm building an analog fuzz pedal at the moment using germanium diodes and transistors.. Love your channel :-)
