Designing AC Synchronous Circuits & The NIMO Clock

Clocks are fun builds, and you too can make your own accurate clock just using the line frequency from the power supply. In this vlog I show just one way of doing it, but be creative and make your own AC synchronous clock!

Fran, if you're looking for good nixie drivers and PSU (and nice price), Tayloredge.com have some nice i2c nixie drivers and a good PSU. Only weird thing are their datasheets where 0 = on 1 = off, and they don't use the right numbering scheme for the i2c.

Fran is in the wrong part of the US, but hear me out. I know many of you self-confessed nerds (including me) likes Japan, so I hope you'll support this Japanese underground dark idol girl band NECRONOMIDOL having a US west coast tour 15-22 Dec. I hope you are OK with this. Mega-talented and cute, just watch this video (with subitles): https://youtu.be/DugO9146nbU

Hi ya Fran! Enjoyed the clips of the breadboard work. If you made a whole video of breadboard work and tips with a nice sound track, that would be a winner in my book. Kind of like the Norwegian "Slow TV", soldering at real time speed!

I only run this for short periods when I can take the time to really admire it. Save the phosphors.

After watching your Heathkit clock video, I expected a button on the second 4017's reset line for synchronizing it to wallclock time. Anyway, thanks for the video!

Nice build, looks great. You might want some hysteresis and/or low pass filtering on the squaring opamp to prevent triggering by mains borne noise.
