Dev Diary, February 21st, 2025
Added 2025-02-21 13:00:14 +0000 UTCUh, I hate being sick. But I still completed more than 100 renders, which means we've surpassed the 1,000 mark, so it's not a complete dud week.
That means I'm just about done with the first of three days in the episode, which has several unique paths you can pick and choose from. I only have one free-roam planned for this episode, which is your little trip with Celeste and Sam. But there will be five different ways to end it.
I've also started experimenting with how to transfer saves from Season 1 to Season 2, and I believe the best way to do it is to have a "Copy choices"-button in Season 1 and a "Paste choices"-button in Season 2.
That way, you can launch both seasons and transfer your saves relatively easily by alt-tabbing. It still needs more testing, but I think it's a fairly good way to go about it. I'm not too fond of the export/import method, as it will need me to save games where they're not supposed to be on your HD, but if you have any thoughts or ideas, I'd love to hear about them in the comments.

Hey Drifty, I only just bought Leap of Faith recently and finished it yesterday. Wow...just wow. I still have not been able to move on from Cece. You told her story so well, and I'm grateful for the happy ending you gave to the game. Otherwise, I think it would be so hard for me to move on from that game. I'm still struggling to move on from Cece's beautifully told story, even though it ended on a happy ending. Idk why, but emotional stories always do something like this to me. Hopefully U4ia will help me move on. Keep up the good work!

I fully dived into leap of faith thinking '' This is probably another dry game with no character build up and just about sex scenes'' And my word i was WRONG the story has so much power,emotion and connection to the readers i loved it and i very rarely go for a second playthrough to see the out come but i went and played through every single scenario and every time i was so stunned with the outcome... So then i realised you made another game u4ia I thought to my self ''well the dev hade one ridiculously good story to tell the first time round he cant top that surly'' But then once again you blew it out of proportion not only in a full game playthrough this time but in just a 3episode period. Im truly amazed by how you make your games so relatable , funny and sad.. Which leaved me with one question...What are your current release period as its been 4 months since the last release?... The for ill wrap up this coment with a GREAT FUCKING JOB.. you were ment to show and tell storys. I just wish you the best and dont work to hard you get burnt out. cant wait for ep4.

2025-02-21 14:01:32 +0000 UTCI have no issues with the copy/paste option. It is less elegant then the usual way saves carry over, but hey if it's working, don't fix it. Hope you get well soon Drifty. Get some rest and drink lot's of water... that seems to be the solution for everything these days. lol

2025-02-21 13:54:20 +0000 UTCGet well soon! I know the Dev "Bear in the Night" uses a very similar method to progress through the seasons, they are on season 4, soon to be 5. It's a button that says transfer save to season X. I don't know how you feel about talking to other devs, and asking for tips, but that might be an idea.

I hope that you'll be back at 100% soon :)) The copy and paste idea sounds interesting for transferring data over between seasons. I'm used to the import / export method you mentioned. I hope that you can implement this well, since it would be so much more convenient to keep game data within the games and not floating around in my computer.
