Dev Diary, August 23rd, 2024

Progress

Working on this is like going through an everlasting bullet list of things to do. Some weeks feel frustrating because you spend two or even three weeks on a single bullet point, but this week, I got through three and started on the fourth. Great for dev morale and also for progress.

Numbers

Last week, 213 story renders were completed. I'm now just shy of 3k renders, with 2,976 done in total. Episode 2 had about 3.3k, but it included more environmental renders with all the beach and hotel free-roam renders. So this episode feels bigger, with a nice blend of story, romance, fun, and of course, lewd action.

For animations, the number has gotten so big that I'm starting to lose count of them all. However, as mentioned earlier, they will more than double the number of animations from episodes 1 and 2 combined.

Next week

There are still scenes to be done, and I'll most likely work on visuals for as long as I can until the workers outside my house get really close to my office window.

As mentioned, I want to sit down with Ren'py one of these weeks and do nothing but, and that might be any week now. I'd hoped to build up a render queue before that, but they are rendering so fast that I'm not sure I'll be able to.

Preview

Of course there's always time for a bit of wholesomeness between exchanging bodily fluids and otherwise interacting with lovely women. Here's one of them.

We talk occasionally, but it's never really about practical development issues. Most developers have found a workflow that works for them through trial and error and it will always differ from person to person. When we talk, it's mostly about enjoying the conversation and lowering the shoulders a bit. And complain about all the 3d bugs and quirks we've had to work ourselves through. :)
