Dev Diary, August 9th, 2024

This week was mostly about rendering animations. Not a lot of stills were done.

As I mentioned some weeks ago, I'm having some work done on my property. They were supposed to start working on September 2nd, but I woke up this Monday to find them working in the garden at 7 a.m.

Why is that a problem, you ask? They are going to remove 250 square meters of mountain (more than 30 trucks of stone), so it's nine hours a day with constant drilling and blasting right outside my office window. And this was week 1 out of 14.

As I discovered, it's not a particularly healthy working environment. Instead, next week, I'm taking my Macbook and retreating to my family's summer house to get some distance. Once there, I'll be working on the Ren'Py scripting. This means I'll take a pause from the visuals for a week, maybe two. But I should be able to finish that part and get a very good overview of exactly what's left to do.

I know that after several weeks of less-than-optimal workflow due to last week's noise, my render rig not working properly, preparing the Steam page, and my grandma's passing, I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but work never halted through all of this, and I'm just keeping you informed. I'm still on target for an 8-month-ish release schedule.

However, it would be nice to just sit down and enjoy a full work week with no interruptions for once. :)

Have yourself a nice weekend, and stay safe out there.

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to read about all the issues you've faced. Just be sure to rest. Out of all that, it sounds like you need some you time.

Nice Drifty moving the mountain from A to B. Not better to leave as is and walk up on that? Why need to move the Kilimanjaro? :D :D :D

I feel you. I'm working from home too and apartment building has being build right outside my window for the last 6 moths or so, it sucks. Thanks for everything

Thank you for the update Drifty! I hope you can manage with all that construction going on. I respect that you have been pushing on regardless of what has slowed you down. Have a great weekend and stay safe Drifty <3

Blood Of A Hero

I have done construction work and been around blasting. The sudden "BOOM" can be, shall we say, unsettling. That and the ground shock. Be safe and careful.
