Illustrated Dev Diary, October 14th, 2022
Added 2022-10-14 12:11:39 +0000 UTCThis part of development is mostly a render marathon, so it's basically just me posing scenes and sending them to the render queue. Rinse and repeat. There was still quite a bit of animation renders going through the machinery this week as the intro of u4ia is somewhat animation heavy, but that's almost done and for the next weeks the focus is story renders and progression.
I'm very happy about how the scenes pan out, and I try to make at least 2-3 variations of each scene, giving you a huge choice of who to spend your time with - which will also impact the way you experience the story and not just for romancing.
The numbers so far are 1,378 animation frames and 240 story renders. I lost half a night of rendering due to Avast restarting the render rig, and another half a night because of Daz Studio misbehaving, but that's just the way it is sometimes.
I was also lucky enough to get my hands on a few of the new 4090 GPUs, so hopefully, they will give a speed increase in rendering going forward. Will do some tests next week when they arrive and include the results in the next update.
Also, as you can see in the image above, no game would be complete without at least one fiery redhead.

2022-10-16 17:45:57 +0000 UTCThe characters of LoF have had such an emotional impact on so many people that I feel an abundance of cameos in U4ia seems very appropriate. I assume there isn't going to be a sequel to LoF so this seems like the next best thing. Cheers!
