Illustrated Dev Diary, February 18th, 2022

First of all, I have to give a huge thank you to everyone for helping Leap of Faith get the great Steam reception it did. It has been beyond what I could have dreamed of, and I know that because many of you bought the game on Steam early, made it spend all of last week on the 'New and Popular'-list, including topping it last weekend. That alone gave 10,000,000 page impressions and helped show the game to a new audience.

It has been a wild week, with people from all over the world has contacted me to tell me their experiences with the game.

Secondly, with such a release, it is inevitable that it has been a distraction on the progress of the chapter 8 development, and for that, I am truly sorry. I know you are here supporting the development of future content, not releasing the game on other platforms. The last two weeks I've been delivering lower numbers than I've ever had during the last two years of development.

In order to rectify it and boost development progress somewhat, I've taken some days off from my normal job next week so I can spend some extra time to gain back lost momentum. Numbers, for now, are 383 story renders and 4,748 frames of animation.

And having said that, my coffee is on the desk, programs are running, and I'm looking forward to a weekend of posing and rendering.

I truly hope you have a good weekend too. Stay safe out there.

Comments

Honestly, I have to mimic Nicephore's comment here. I haven't been around, but I just completed my first playthrough of the game and *immediately* MADE a Hall of Fame folder to put it and a few others into. It's in good company, right up there with Being a DIK and Love of Magic - and who knows? I've only played one route, it might turn out to be my favorite. It's really unfortunate that it's so much less supported than the company that it's in. I hope that changes in the near future.

As a contributor to this game for almost a year, I expressed at the time, in a private message, my astonishment at the few contributors (533) while at the same time, other tenors posted scores without no common measure (15000 for BaDIK). Water has flowed under the bridge since then, and I am happy that today this number has almost tripled, even if I still do not understand why there is always such a gap. In any case, as the LoF adventure is about to end, I can only reiterate my enormous satisfaction at having had the privilege of playing this game. I don't know if there will be anything else after (I hope so, of course) but in the meantime, thank you again. Stay safe Good luck

Congratulations. Well deserved. Amazing VN from awesome developer. You rock Drifty

Wildfire

You are one of the fellow devs I have the most respect for. Because what you're doing is well beyond what most AVN developers do in terms of story, music, and even communication with your followers/patrons. I myself try to work by your example. Keep up the amazing work and so looking forward to your future projects after LoF.

N2TheFire

You are awesome Drifty, enjoy your coffee, candlelight, the good things (even the small)

Congrats on the good reception, well deserved. Btw just curious; how many chapters have you (if at all) planned for LoF (hoping for around twenty. ish...) :P

Marcase

An update and a picture with best woman in it? Hell, it's a good day already.
