Damn, what a time to catch up! I like chapters like this. More of this, please. I don’t need to go back to the cheese grater for the soul that is Fulgora’s POV anytime soon. I feel the need to clarify that I revel in the trauma and as a result I do, in fact, enjoy the chapters of suffering. But I like awkward lesbians making adorable squeaking noises more.

2026-02-24 05:52:09 +0000 UTCCastalia very clearly suspects even if she's not willing to make judgment without evidence, but Chloe is way too good at people reading for Thea to fool her, and Bean is way to good at Luna reading for Luna to fool her, so most likely by the time Team Luna gets back, Bean and Chloe would have talked about it and figured most everything out.

We now have our second on screen death of a child. _____________________ Chloe, Bean and Castalia definitely know that Luna and Thea were lying about the whole “Luna is completely free” thing. At least Castalia also knows the whole thing is making Thea absolutely miserable. _____________________ Couple possible reasons for the surprise kaiju. The kaiju killed everything in Bermuda—including the preserver—before they could get a warning out. The Bermuda preserver is alive but too shellshocked from the destruction to function. (Unlikely, preserver emotions seem weird) Mel summoned the kaiju at the bottom of the ocean to surprise everyone and maximize potential deaths because she’s insane. Maybe it will help her patch up the dark world quicker? Also the reason Bermuda was wiped without a chance to get word out could be because Mel dropped the Kaiju on them out of nowhere when they weren’t expecting a crossing. _____________________ Crap. Now I’m terrified that Mel is just hiding until Castalia is exhausted so she can assassinate her. Fighting a kaiju would leave them all way to distracted to even think of looking for her.

After her blunder with mel and luna she's been hyperfocused on luna to look for any signs of something wrong and i feel luma is underestimating how dedicated she can be when she is aware of a problem

Unless she gets sad enough that it’s worth it to reconfigure mid-fight?? Hm. When her incarnate form was first revealed, I didn’t really get the Muramasa name. Sure, Luna was ordered to provoke Melpomene’s disgust, and in some sense she sees herself as having goaded Mel on, but that felt a little weak to me, to be named for the “cursed blade that drives its wielder mad.” It started to make more sense when Thea became her master, though; Luna would really live up to her incarnate form’s name if Thea, in “wielding” her, descended morally in some big way! Also I bet after those three left chloe and bean were immediately like “yea thea was lying.”
