Public Update - State of Affairs (its still all about Sovngarde)

After The Initial Release and first Round of Bugfixes for this new Project have been Released, I think its time to Reflect on it and Give a bit of a roadmap on how I plan to proceed from Here.

To Recap: This entire Thing was meant to serve as a sort of death Alternative mod, custom tailored to work with Deadly furnitures and to allow players to continue their games after getting a bad end in one of the PA outcomes or OBH (and maybe from 3rd party mods, but more about that later).

Not gonna lie, this was a bit of a Gamble. There is a lot of interplay between different mods along the pipeline required in order for this Idea to work Smoothly.

But after getting the Initial Release out and waiting for the reception, I think it was well worth it. There were a few Reported bugs, and thanks to your detailed reporting I was able to identify and fix them.
And so, the obvious question now is, whats coming next.

A lot of things actually. But we can Group them into 3 major steps. And I'm vaguely planning to do them in that order.


1: Make Edits to the remaining devices so they become compatible with Pama Sovngarde Aftermath (PaSo)

I have mentioned this before, but pretty much every device needs a custom solution to deal with a situation where the Player or an NPC is simply whisked away from them. Otherwise, horrible things will happen when the player gets to close to them after returning from Sovngarde. In the current Releases, there are only 2 devices which have this capacity, And I'm working on the remaining ones to make them compatible as well. I'm actually halfway done with that.

2: Rework existing Scenes and PA outcomes to also become compatible with PaSo.

Player spawned Devices are one thing, but the more complex scenes which make use of Devices are another thing, and will in most cases require changes in order to send the player to Sovngarde.
Another potential issue here is continuity. My Own scenes are usually fairly short, so its not that much of a deal to shut them down when a PaSo Situation has been triggered.
But I'm a bit concerned about 3rd party mods here which also use make use of deadly Furnitures. Delzaron is still actively Developing his stuff, so he can propably account for this, but there are possibly smaller mods out there whose Authors are either inactive or outside of my reach.
I'm gonna add a new script property to every device which allows them to suppress PaSo outcomes. This does allow mod authors to opt out of PaSo, and also makes it fairly easy to patch existing mods with TESVedit.
But to summarize step 2: Rework all my existing mods to become compatible with PaSo


3: Add remaining Content to PaSo itself

While The mod is currently fully playable and repeatable, there is still missing content which is already being hinted at by the Characters in Sovngarde.
Namely this includes the 2 remaining Device Trials within the Meadhall, Overseen by Jurgen Windcaller and Ulfgar the Unending.
And of course the Lost Souls/Wraiths which are supposed to Roam within the Fog outside the Meadhall and hunt the player.


Thats about the IMMEDIATE Plans content wise, but the Laundry List of potential new stuff for the near and midterm future is becoming ever longer.
There are currently 2 new devices on the shortlist which I have models for and could therefore make reasonably quick, But my attention is actually going towards working on Orkish Bounty Hunters again soon. I know it usually doesn't fare well in polls, but I guess I just have to pit it against somewhat more manageable opponents.

Main reason for this Sudden interest from me is all the writing and Dialogues I did for PaSo.
Before Making it, I actually had a lot of reservations against including lots of dialogues in my mods. Making them with the Creation kit is fairly clunky and cumbersome, and they are probably not overly interesting for my non-english audience.

And while all of these problems still stand, I actually had a lot of fun with them during PaSo creation. Despite being somewhat limited by the fact that I had to write Dialogues for existing Characters, I really enjoyed creating Personalities and stories for the Heroes of the Meadhall.

And if you remember the original Premise of OBH, you will recall that I intend to create a whole new Guild for the Orks. All with their own Base and Characters, all of which have their own Stories, personalities, and relationships.
I'm really looking forwards to get started with that at some point this year.

Especially those who are subscribed here and allow me to dedicate so much time to modding, but also those who simply enjoy my stuff and give me that feeling that I provide something of value to the community.

Haha - thus always to democracy. ;) Just kidding - I'm overjoyed we finally have a death alternative option for your furnitures, and it makes planning my playthroughs so much more fun if I know there isn't a reload waiting when a prison outcome occurs (for example). Once you've linked the prison outcomes to PASO, it will be even more spectacular! But, as always - do what makes you happy, Pama. This isn't a job, and while the option of voting is great, it doesn't mean you have to drop projects you find interesting.
