Hey everyone, I'm almost done wrapping up the next update. This one will open up the fighting arena at the casino and let you bet on the first fight, the current champion Gercha vs. the next challenger!
Fights at the casino are to the death, so the stakes are high for the unlucky slaves who have to fight Gercha. Enjoy the scene from afar and and work on those loyalty points, because Leah's heels are coming with this update too.
And I almost forgot...
Version 1.0.9 will feature an optional Ironman mode for those brave enough. At the start of a new file you will be asked what mode you want to play in, Normal or Recommended. The default mode (Normal) is the original Harshville experience: save and load whenever you want.
The problem with this original mode is that you can easily cheat at the mine and at the casino, and earn money easily. It sort of dampens the urgent and precarious mood I envisioned when I started developing Harshville. So with a collection of hacks and plugins I've pieced together what amounts to Ironman mode!
What happens under the hood is that the game now autosaves to slot 4 when you change maps (or when I specify, usually after a random number generation or an important choice like red or black, etc). No matter what mode you play, there will be an autosave of it in slot 4.
The only true difference between Normal and Ironman mode is that Ironman does not let you save. Thus, you will only be able to load the slot 4 autosave for that play-through. An unintended consequence of this is also that anything you do will be overwriting your Ironman mode playthrough :/
So if you do start an Ironman playthrough, just know that you can't play other files until you finish. This setup is the best way I could implement Ironman without spending too much time away from what you guys probably care about more, which is the content.
