hi guys! I'll be honest with you I don't actually have that extensive of a backstory for this piece this time, but I thought I would say hi anyway. I made this piece back in September last year when my husband and I had returned from another road trip. By now if you've seen my past few videos, you probably have inferred that the bear is a parody of my husband and the little princess is a parody of myself- the other characters are parodies of other people and partners in my life too.
my husband and I, whenever we can- love to travel and be on the road together. and whenever we're on the road in his car- we're often listening to spotify together or an audiobook, and when we're listening to music- my most favorite memories are usually of us being really goofy and singing very loudly to each other in the car. um so, I wanted to make a little painting that held that memory! and I thought it'd be very cute either way to see these two characters with big toothy smiles. that's kind of where the idea started. and I think the painting turned out super cute! I think my favorite part of painting this piece was the mouth detail. I don't know, I was just having a lot of fun with the shading. and I remember deciding to give the little princess sharp teeth as a fun little character detail 'cause I hadn't really painted her with her mouth open yet before this painting and I was like, oh.. well.. that kinda would look cute.. I felt like it kinda gave her character design a little bit of edge even though she's like really tiny and small and a little princess, she's kinda has like shark teeth. (lol) I dunno, it makes sense to me, it makes me smile- I also had braces at the time when I was painting this and during a lot of these paintings so.. I dunno, I always felt like my mouth was very sharp. anyway, just rambling! I hope you think the painting came out super cute too. I had some fun with the piece in post this year too, animating it and also using it as a prop for our wedding ceremony- but I'll save those details for a separate post. so- yeah, short voice-over this time...but I hope you enjoyed anyway!
I guess, now that this is our 4th video on patreon and soon to be on youtube- I can maybe take this time to leave you some questions! and you can comment down below if you feel like responding to them, I'd love to hear from you.
first, I guess-- how are you doing?
what are some creative hobbies that you've been indulging in lately?
or maybe- you have creative hobbies that you really want to spend more time doing, but don't currently have the time? I'd love to hear about those too.
oh, what are you reading lately? I love knowing what people are reading.
okay- I'll leave those here with you!
thank you for watching and supporting me here, I really appreciate it and I love being able to share my artwork with you in this space.. so thank you thank you.. I'll chat with you again very soon! see you next time
