Course of Temptation January Update (v0.7.5)
Added 2026-01-07 22:10:30 +0000 UTC
Hello friends! It's time for the January update.
This update continues our work on the priorities established in the recent development focus poll. Esports and swimming mechanics have been extended, gaining the subskill and practice routine system that cheerleading and football gained last month. For esports, this includes more defined roles for each character and two new characters who are focused around healing.
You can now practice swimming and esports on your own or with a teammate (again, football and cheerleading previously gained this mechanic last month).
The practice area for esports is in the new computer lab in Chamberlain Hall, a space which also enables you to access a computer without buying one of your own.
The esports storyline has gained a new path focused around The E-girl character, which is an alternative / parallel method of gaining access to choosing your own character without engaging much with The 360 No-scoper character or being in the streaming career.
The Smashers Studios storyline has gained two new prose events, which you can alternate to do weekly shoots, turning this into a regular side gig. More events will be added in this set over time.
For foot enthusiasts, there is a new character and event set in Bootlicker, written by Hee Ho. Hee Ho has also once again brought us some new options for clothing and hair colors this month.
Noonycurt has refactored dress codes and dress restrictions behind the scenes, which means these systems work differently (read: better) for us but should appear to behave about the same to you. If you notice anything oddly different with these systems, please report it as a bug.
If you're not aware, we're maintaining two parallel development cycles:
The monthly update might contain new event sets, new locations, or new mechanics, but usually focuses on extending existing content or polishing existing systems. It comes out once a month with whatever we got done in that time period... hence the name!
The roadmap update checks off one or more items on the roadmap, adding extensive new mechanics and a bunch of related new events in one go, often fundamentally changing how the game can be played. It usually takes multiple months.
As always, my gratitude to the volunteer contributors who added to this update, to those who delved into this update's early access builds, and to the supporters who make this project possible.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy!
Release notes
Added subskills and plays for esports
Added play execution to esports competitions, which can significantly swing the final outcome
Added two new EverNexus characters for esports and gave each character a more defined role, important for which part of a play you’ll be practicing/executing (there are also several overlapping general roles)
Added a computer lab to Chamberlain Hall, which provides access to computers without needing to purchase one of your own (unfortunately, you cannot use these computers to stream, but you can use them to launch your writing minicareer)
The computer lab is also an esports practice space, where you can practice on your own or encounter opportunities to practice with teammates
Added subskills to swimming, divided between stroke techniques and starts, turns, and finishes
Refactored swimming competitions to make use of the new subskills and take your personal practice level into account
Edited flavor text and competition structure to be more accurate to U.S. college swimming standards, which uses yards instead of meters
Set the pool in Blodgett Gym as a location for personal swim practice, and also for opportunities to practice with teammates
Added two new repeatable extended prose events to the “Smashers” professional porn career, which will enable your character to do this every week for an extra paycheck
Having skills and inclinations that fit the porn scene you’re filming will lead to better pay
To schedule a new Smashers shoot, use your phone to text the company rep
Added two new sports bras, a festival mask, knee-high sneakers, a denim jumpsuit, a cape coat, flamenco boots, various fuzzy clothing items, and new bags to stores in Riverside as well as Wild Fantasies (contributed by Hee Ho)
Altered the garter belt so it wouldn’t interfere with other clothing (contributed by Hee Ho)
Added some new hair colors (contributed by Hee Ho)
Moved the virgin-killer sweater to Wild Fantasies (contributed by Hee Ho)
Added “apple-bottom” style option to various jeans (contributed by Hee Ho)
Refactored how dress codes and dress restrictions (for example, not being allowed to board the bus naked) are handled throughout the game, which should make this system more consistent, easier to maintain, and less prone to edge cases (contributed by noonycurt)
Do you like foot stuff? If so, you’re not alone — so does a certain employee of Bootlicker (contributed by Hee Ho)
You can now cheer for friends and partners when they’re highlighted in a sports game you’re spectating
If you’re playing in a sports game, you may be cheered by friends and partners, which will grant Composure and slightly lower the difficulty of your next skillcheck
JT Ult’s depressing old book section has been closed down, but NobblyBarns rises to take its place with an expanded selection (contributed by Rfpnj, implementing various suggestions)
Classes within the Sports Management major now take place inside Blodgett Gym (contributed by Rfpnj)
Added Bullying content category for those who dislike NPCs being jerks for no reason (or who want to boost it)
Made one small optimization that should massively improve event-picking speed around gift-giving times
Similarly, somewhat sped up the “new day” calculations when it’s time for parents to send you a gift
Added an alternate/parallel path in esports that will let you choose a character without needing to engage much with The 360 No-scoper or the streaming career
The new healer characters in esports can now be selected when you get an opportunity to choose a character (if you’ve already chosen a character once before, completing the parallel path above will let you choose again)
Many fixes and tweaks
A reminder that if you participated in early access, that version will no longer be updated until the next early access period — it's time to move to the public version!

Would there be any chance of a setting to toggle to metric, so we can use meters instead of yards?
