Course of Temptation January Update Early Access (v0.7.5)

The early access period for the January update is here!

This update continues to focus on the priorities established by the most recent development focus poll. We've expanded on esports and swimming by adding the sports subskills system to them, and we've also expanded the professional porn career with two extended prose events, which will allow you to perform a shoot weekly.

As often happens, this isn't the full extent of the update — I'll be continuing to work on it and extending this changelog for the next week or so up until public release day, and you can expect a new build or two through the week as I work on things and fix bugs.

In particular, my next tasks will be to work on the esports storyline, to expand on what's there, revise the characters a bit, and add a path to character selection that doesn't involve going through the whole storyline if you don't care to. I also want to revise the Smashers Studios scenes just added by bringing skillchecks into them, which can alter the quality of the shoot as well as what you personally gain from it.

Hee Ho has also written a chunk of new content which I just need to do a little work to fully integrate, and that will get done very soon, probably later today.

Other than that, I'll probably work on some miscellaneous low-hanging fruit to polish things up around the game and improve quality of life and all that. We'll see! I may or may not add another new Smashers Studios scene for this month — having more variety in them is certainly good, but they're also very intensive to write.

Release notes

• Added subskills and plays for esports

• Added play execution to esports competitions, which can significantly swing the final outcome

• Added two new EverNexus characters for esports and gave each character a more defined role, important for which part of a play you’ll be practicing/executing (there are also several overlapping general roles)

• Added a computer lab to Chamberlain Hall, which provides access to computers without needing to purchase one of your own (unfortunately, you cannot use these computers to stream, but you can use them to launch your writing minicareer)

• The computer lab is also an esports practice space, where you can practice on your own or encounter opportunities to practice with teammates

• Added subskills to swimming, divided between stroke techniques and starts, turns, and finishes

• Refactored swimming competitions to make use of the new subskills and take your personal practice level into account

• Edited flavor text and competition structure to be more accurate to U.S. college swimming standards, which uses yards instead of meters

• Set the pool in Blodgett Gym as a location for personal swim practice, and also for opportunities to practice with teammates

• Added two new repeatable extended prose events to the “Smashers” professional porn career, which will enable your character to do this every week for an extra paycheck

• (For the moment, you can schedule a shoot by using the contact link on the AmateurPornTown website, though this will very likely be done differently in the career’s final form)

• Added two new sports bras, a festival mask, knee-high sneakers, a denim jumpsuit, a cape coat, and new bags to stores in Riverside (contributed by Hee Ho)

• Altered the garter belt so it wouldn’t interfere with other clothing (contributed by Hee Ho)

• Refactored how dress codes and dress restrictions (for example, not being allowed to board the bus naked) are handled throughout the game, which should make this system more consistent, easier to maintain, and less prone to edge cases (contributed by noonycurt)
