January Updates

Happy New Year,

I have a few updates.

I created a new website. It is also linked my Patreon Bio.

What is this website?

This is where I will post my public mods and blogs about development and releases, much like here but less frequently updated and less descriptive. 

What this website isn't.

I will not post any in-progress or early versions of mods on this website, and immediate support for mod related issues. Those benefits will strictly be provided via Patreon. 

New Release.

I publicly released the The Birds and the Bees v1.0.0 on December 29th, 2022. I have included that version as an attachment below.

The Birds and the Bees (BNB) lags my game!

I am aware of the performance issue and am currently working on a fix. It will be present in the next update.

So far, from the reports I have gotten, this lag exists in larger save-games with a large female population.

If the lag is too much for your game, please remove the mod. I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Anyway, here are some other bugs I’ve noticed in some games and screenshots:

• Missing sim first names in dialogs
• Ovulation and Menstruation moodlets appearing at the time
• Menstrual Phases repeating themselves?
• Grocery items showing up twice in one game?
• Reproductive sentiment debug dialogs still being present
• “Fuck Them Kids” is still present in the debug dialogs lol

I want to translate the mod!

And I would gladly accept it. However, here’s the thing

• When I developed the BNB, I did not keep a complete master list of  all the keys and strings I used in the mod. I’ve been told this is  primarily how mods are translated.
• However, S3SE STBL Editor by Inge, the program I used to organize, add, delete strings has an option to  add translated strings corresponding to the English strings and export  the translated strings as a .stbl file. I could make a tutorial on it  just case it’s not clear.

Are you going to update your mods?

Yes. In fact, I have a list of features I would like to add in the  future while keeping things within each mod’s scope and performant.

What are you going to do with Dark Necessities?

For now, it’s just a small joke mod. However, I wanted to design it  to reflect the realities of drug use, mental health, and criminal  justice. I am keeping it vague for now since it’s still in the  idea/testing/ugly stage. I’ll release beta versions of it on this Patreon, but mainly for new feature exploration, testing, and discussion.

Final Word?

I also wanted to feature some of the videos sent to me showcasing The  Birds and the Bees. Sure they show some of the bugs with the mod, which  are great since I need to be aware of them to fix them, I appreciate  the frank feedback of watching people test the mod in-game since it  delights me to see people’s reactions to the mod and helps me create  better experiences for players.
