So maybe instead of the usual devroom to view all the scenes it was suggested by a close friend of mine to make it a petting zoo instead? What do you guys think?

The only real downside I see is that it'll  push back dev-time, game release as its more work.

Yeah, that's an interesting idea. Perhaps something like a seer that would request a gold fee to peer into "other futures" you could've had, if it's separate from the zoo. Then the memory is reactivatable any time without having to pay again or something. Could be an NPC filming you and making little video tapes he sells you otherwise, though it would be weird if you beat them. Maybe you get the scenes with stunt actors? XD

The bosses will be in the zoo just outside of the containment areas, I'm thinking maybe for the bosses you'll be able to pay a gold fee to unlock the scenes? As otherwise that could lock players out as bosses are really a one time deal hmm

Hmm, just thought about one point that would be interesting to take into account though. What about bosses? Do you send them to the petting zoo once you beat them (which could be quite hilarious XD), or would it be more like a hall of fame with statues or paintings of the bosses where you remember your fights with them? Since it is a video game world, mostly anything could work in some way, but it would be interesting of either they had a distinct feel in there or in the case they'd be sent to the petting zoo they'd have like dialogue to bitch you cause they actually had a life before you decided to make them a decoration XD

I think both are okay. Despite the last one being a dev room, it was still integrated into the game smoothly as you literally accessed it from a computer. That's my main point of interest with this, and as you would literally be in a video game world, a dev room would also make sense. Both ideas are interesting in this context I'd say, as this is visually more pleasing and easier to go through with a single glance. Another idea could be a bestiary of sorts, perhaps? It would make sense that the enemies fill as you beat them, it would allow for some lore tidbits to be added and it could be easier perhaps in dev for it would be a menu instead of an area (though I know nothing about that, so perhaps it's the opposite). If integrating it into a menu would be more difficult, perhaps an NPC you could provide with drops and info from the monsters and he'd be able to recreate them or something, and you'd choose from a list menu? There's a million ideas that could work, and I believe you put enough care and work into your games for it to feel nicely integrated either way so I'm just happy the feature itself is in there rather than having a specific preference over its style. Just do what you'll be happier with as an end result, I'll be able to take the wait either way :)
