This mod allows the player to take any player home container in the game and link it into a universal sorted storage system. This means that any player home, modded or otherwise, will be able to have a sorted storage system that links with any other instances.
For example, you may turn a chest in Breezehome into a universal storage chest for weapons. Then you may do the same with a chest in Honeyside. Those two containers will behave like normal, except they now share an inventory. You may link as many containers as you want, they will all be renamed to reflect the intended contents. You will also be able to turn any container into a Sorting box, which is used to automatically sort items into their respective containers as well as access any container in the system. If you want additional chests for simple storage, you may also create "General" storage containers. These containers are assigned an ID number between 0-99, any chests with the same ID number will be linked.
By default this will only work in player homes, though you can unlock it if you want it to work with any container whatsoever. This does cause some minor issues with respawning containers and could be viewed as cheating, so do so at your own discretion (see below for directions).
There are also several other convenience features, including automatic crafting material storage and retrieval while at crafting stations!
How To Use:
Once the mod is installed, you will have a spell at the top of your alteration spell list called "Storage Management". While using the concentration spell, any eligible container you activate will bring up a menu. Simply choose the type of storage you'd like the container to be. If you select a sorted storage option, any items already in the container will be sorted into the system and the container will now access the chosen storage. The container will also be renamed to reflect it's contents.
If you choose to set the container as general storage, then you will be presented with a menu to assign a 2 digit ID. The ID will reflect which storage the container accesses. For example two "General Storage: 6" containers will have a shared inventory, while three "General Storage: 87" containers will have a shared inventory separate from those with the "6" ID. Any items already in the container when linked will be put in the shared inventory, but no items will be sorted into these containers by the sorting system.
If you assign the container to be a sorting container, you will be able to use it to either: sort items into the named storage containers by placing them in the sorting container, automatically sort any raw crafting materials you may have in your inventory, or access any named container in the sorting system.
Should you wish to unlink a container, just activate it while casting the spell and you'll be presented with the option to do so.
The spell is also used if you want to have your crafting materials retrieved automatically when you use a crafting station. Just activate the station while casting the spell and all crafting, smiting, building and alchemy materials will be added to your inventory then removed when you're done.
Additional Settings:
There are a couple of setting that users may edit (at your own risk).
By default the system may only be used in player homes. You may disable this restriction if you'd like, though this does allow some minor issues with respawning containers (they will unlink without being renamed. No items will be lost, but its not ideal) and could be viewed as cheating when used in dungeons and the like. To allow this, use the console command: "Set Storage_HomesOnly To 0"
By default the auto sorting system for materials will take soul gems, if you don't want it to, use the console command: "Set Storage_SoulGems To 0"
Compatibility:
This mod IS compatible with modded player homes. It is not recommended that you attempt to link containers into this system if they're already part of another sorting system. You may loose items, or break the other system in some way.
