Little stuff like that is why to watch Z not Kai. Kai gets other things right like Goku was sad he had to kill not mad in the manga after killing freeza. But that stuff comes at a lot of back story expense. Gohan Bulma and krill in in space before namek, most of snake way, kid gohans training before and with piccolo all get taken out. Gohan literally matures into a warrior during the solo six months and you see him decide in Z. You wont in Kai

And at the end i want you to think about the entire story, the times they reference goku as not human, and then consider; the final villian of DB was supposed to be raditz. Someone who mops goku and piccolo in Z 5 years after the end of Dragon Ball. We just was Piccolo senior powers. Imagine raditz who dies quickly and made fun of as ultra low level.
