This song is written by and about their keyboarder Tuomas, who writes all of their music/lyrics. All of their musicians are classically trained having attended music schools and their music is described as being symphonic metal. Tuomas records the bands music using real orchestras and choirs (generally the London philharmonic) instead of samples, and writes and orchestrates the music himself. Most people start with Ghost Love Score and move through the songs. The big three are: Ghost love score The poet and the pendulum The greatest show on earth If you are looking for a dark emotional song, The Poet and the Pendulum is perfect as Tuomas wrote it during the darkest time in his life and ended his life in music rather than in real life, with that said the song ends hopefully with a new beginning.
