2026-02-28 23:44:16 +0000 UTCHouse of blood is one of the 5 major houses, and they are working with the House of iron, who have practically declared her their goddess,matron saintess or whatever. That is 2 major houses working directly for tala which shows a lot of power which Arcane respect. Also i believe iron and blood are the only 2 major houses in the city so they naturally defer to them. I am not quite sure, but i think the Eskau of war thing is only really used when they have an extra eskau hanging around rather than a typical thing for fights.

2026-02-04 20:32:16 +0000 UTCI am a little surprised by how much authority tala has over all the random houses, and the respect they give her in turn. Isn't eskau of war a position explicitly within the house of blood, and should only have authority over the house of blood and their allies? Seems like other competing houses would be much more likely to appoint their own eskau of war than submit to her authority, even in the heat of the moment.

2026-02-04 16:54:05 +0000 UTCWhile we as the audience know that this is just a probing attack to refamiliarize the legion with arcane and gated human war tactics. I feel like some of Tala's inexperience with such things is showing a bit here. Most of the things she fights don't really plan and the one's who do she knows so well by the time she fights them that it amounts to the same. She is missing the obvious and just revealed her greatest weapon against the legion which will know doubt cause a severe escalation in the war from the very beginning while everyone is still finding their feet.
