One thing that caught my eye is that you're rendering at a 16:9 aspect ratio even for the VR versions. That results in a non-square pixel ratio when split between two eyes at 180x180 degrees. Some players (in my case heresphere) don't detect this correctly, and you have to set the aspect ratio manually. I would recommend rendering at something like 4096x2048 / 8192x4096 ... that way, one pixel is the same step in latitude and longitude. There is not REALLY a standard for this, but it akes sense to have two regions with equal height and width for a projection that has equal horizontal and vertical FOV, doesn't it? (A lot of videos on commercial sites are encoded in this format, too.)

Trying to render for VR, I figured out the minmax degrees for lat/long, but I keep having the issue where the *subject*😏 looks like she's too big and far away

Normal view camera: - Perspective - Focal length: 35mm to 50mm depending on the scene. VR version camera - Panoramic - Equirectangular - Min latitude: -90 - Max latitude: 90 - Min longitude: -90 - Max longitude: 90

What are your camera settings for rendering these? Can't seem to get my FOV good

Nice work fixing the clipping issue.
