The new story content for v0.10 has been completed. From here, I'll be working on the training content, Gallery Mode, and various improvements, as I'd like to polish the game as much as possible before the Steam (v0.10) release.
Speaking of which, the release date is now scheduled for Nov 4 (Mon).
There were a few reasons for this decision. Mainly, I wanted a little bit of extra time for minor things like localizations and re-making certain images from the early game that I felt were subpar. You can see an example of one such scene in the images above. More realistic lighting, a more subtle depth-of-field effect, more emotive facial expressions - that sort of thing. Having these few extra days of development is a lifesaver since it gives me the time to improve on older content that isn't quite up to the current standard of quality.
(I also didn't feel it was a good idea to compete with all the other games releasing in late-October. It's much less crowded in November, which should help Rebel Duet stand out more on release.)
I've made changes to certain areas of the dialogue, based on the feedback received. For example, the player will now be able to decide their own stance on social issues like slavery and treatment of non-humans. Also, instead of the relationship with Valerie being assumed an exclusive one, the player will be to decide for themselves if the two are committed to each other or if it's just a partnership and sexual relationship.
There's much more I have planned (or have already added), so I'll leave most of this for the patch notes and instead focus on describing the larger additions and improvements that I think players are most interested in.
