Rebel Duet (Jan 18, 2025)

v0.11 of Rebel Duet is nearly complete, and will be launching within the next 2-3 weeks. Like before, it will be updated the same day across Patreon, Steam, and itch.

My goal is to finish v0.11 by the 31st, giving me an extra week buffer period in case of bugs and other issues.

I was originally expecting this to be a smaller and more sex-focused update, but it ended up becoming a fairly substantial one. There's a good mix of romance, sexual content, and story development, making v0.11 (in my opinion) one of the better updates so far.

A new ending scene was added, featuring a certain vampiric castle. I didn't want to end the update on a cliffhanger, but at the same felt the MC and Valerie going to bed was a bit anticlimactic. So I ended up adding this scene, which was originally planned for v0.12 or v0.13. If you enjoy the dark fantasy aspect of the game, this scene should provide lots to look forward to, since most of Act 3 will follow the same dark themes and atmosphere.

Thanks to hardware upgrades, I've been able to render more complex scenes and animations. This will probably be more noticeable from v0.12 onwards (since the majority of v0.11 was already completed on older hardware), but players should still notice some small improvements in this update. For example, I've created an animation of wine slowly being poured into a glass, which is a subtle addition that wouldn't have been possible previously.

Depending on how busy things are, there may be one more progress update posted before the release. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy playing v0.11 when it releases in a couple weeks. 😁

Rebel Duet (Dec 30, 2024)

Hello! I wish everyone a happy New Year, and hope you also had a wonderful Christmas. 🎆🎁

v0.11 is now over halfway complete. I'm committed to releasing it by late January (or the first few days of February at the latest), since Steam users expect frequent updates. I expect v0.12 will also be released a few weeks faster than v0.11, thanks to my new work computer significantly improving rendering speeds and productivity.

If you picked the Sharing Route, Valerie will treat the protagonist to a special 'report' of her activities at the tavern. You will be able to select between allowing Valerie to tease you, or instead taking a more dominant position. This will influence certain aspects of future sharing scenes, such as whether or not Valerie takes the lead. I felt this was an important decision to have since some players have a strict preference for one dynamic over the other.

Annestria visits the protagonist's home in this update. Though Valerie is away, Rena is home - which means Ann and Rena finally get introduced to each other. This will open the doors for more content involving the two and even Valerie together. If you've been wanting a threesome or foursome with the girls - you're in luck, as this opportunity will present itself later on.

I've added an alternate main outfit for both the male and female protagonists, with a long coat suiting their role as a dark sorcerer.

The textbox has been changed slightly, though this is still a work-in-progress and will likely be stylized further in a future update. I've also begun my plans for a 'journal' feature, which might include things like a more detailed stats screen, character biographies, and a log of all the important decisions you've made. I don't think this will be ready until v0.12 or v0.13, but it's worth mentioning since it will likely play a large role in the overall experience.

Casual Desires (Dec 30, 2024)

Hi! I hope everyone has been enjoying the holidays.

This past week I've been focused exclusively on Casual Desires, but I think it will need a couple more weeks before it's ready. There's a few reasons for this, including but not limited to:

• Extra scenes were added, such as a new ending scene, a variation at Violet's house for players who chose not to ask her out, and a short stripping section at the porn interview. The chapter was otherwise feeling quite disjointed without these transitional scenes.

• I'd like to finish rendering the Luna date scene on my new computer, after it arrives (hopefully) on Jan 2nd. GPU limitations meant that I wasn't able to render background characters in this scene, and that the scene itself was quite short. My new machine with a RTX 4090 will significantly expand the scope of what I'm able to render.

• The dialogue in Casual Desires has been challenging for me to write, due to it being a slice-of-life. This isn't the case with RD since the dialogue - while more complex - comes very naturally as a result of its story focus.

• There's been an increase in negativity these past few days. While I don't take these sorts of comments personally, it does drain my energy and cause me to be less productive than I'd like.

I know that players were expecting to play the new chapter before the end of the year, and that was my hope as well. Apologies for any disappointment this news might have caused.

Casual Desires will be returning to a regular schedule in 2025, since it is launching on Steam.

Rebel Duet (Dec 3, 2024)

v0.11 of Rebel Duet is currently about 30% complete, with a release estimated in January.

I would like to give extra thanks to everyone who has supported the game on Steam or itch. The launch has been a massive success so far, and will allow me to comfortably transition into working on game development full-time. I'm also looking into adding more translations over the coming months, as well as potentially commissioning custom-made music and/or game features from talented folk in the future.

This update will see a significant amount of new sexual and romantic content. As a reward for defeating Oruth at the end of Act 2, Mira will offer the protagonist sexual favors, which you can choose to accept or decline. There will also be the first (optional) scenes involving Valerie at the tavern, if you opted into the sharing route.

The Map System is being added in v0.11, which will allow players to bond with heroines (and other characters) of their choosing. There will also be optional side events, such as visiting the sex shop again for more training items. I'll have more to share regarding the map system in the coming weeks, once the new story content has been completed.

I've also added a couple new options to the settings menu. Namely, players will be able to swap their preferred clothing for Rena, as well as select the music for the training system (between three different BGMs). There's of course a bunch more I'd like to add with this update, since there's been a ton of feedback and suggestions from Steam players. I'll do my best to implement as many of these improvements as possible, with the rest to be added in v0.12.

There will be a good chunk of story progression in this update, too, in preparation for the big scene of v0.12. While I can't give away too many spoilers, there's quite a bit of violence in this update, as Act 3 is set to tread much darker territory than the previous story arcs.

Casual Desires (Nov 26, 2024)

Casual Desires has been officially approved for release on Steam! It's been a long and difficult year, but the store page has finally launched.

This is extremely good news for the future of the game, since it means it will be able to return to a regular release schedule after Chapter 20. There's a lot of work that needs to be done before I can consider the game ready for Steam.

My plans for CD are roughly as follows:

• Chapter 20 release. While I still can't give an exact date, I can promise that it will be out before the end of the year at the very latest.

• New chapters return to a release pace of every 2-3 months. Each new chapter will also bring a bunch of improvements and additions to older content, in preparation for the Steam launch.

• CD releases into Steam Early Access around Summer 2025 (Jun - Sep).

• After about a year in Early Access (potentially a few months longer), the game sees its full 1.0 release and is completed.

• If the Steam release is popular enough, I may update it with extra content (v1.1 and v1.2) before moving on to the next project.

Overall, I expect Casual Desires will take roughly 2 more years until it's completed.

Thank you to everyone, both new and old players alike, for being patient throughout these past months. It's been a long wait, but the future for Casual Desires is looking bright. I'll do my best to make Act 3—and all the earlier content— as good as it can possibly be.

Rebel Duet (Nov 3, 2024)

Hey, just a quick update before the big release.

The Steam version will launch at 10 AM PST (18 hours from now). The v0.10 update will also be posted on Patreon shortly after, along with a paid version on itch.

As for the contents of the v0.10 update, I've uploaded an image of the patch notes above.

There's a few things that didn't make it in time for this update (such as the Gallery Mode and a few more training positions), but overall I feel pretty satisfied with the amount of content that was added over these past 2 months. There was a huge list of planned changes, and I managed to complete 80-90% of the things on that list. The rest of these features and improvements will be added in v0.11.

There are five new sex scenes in this update: Rena Sex (Female), Rena Sex (Male), Male Prostitute (Female Protagonist), Doggy with Anal Dildo (Male Training), and Strap-on Receive (Female Training).

Rebel Duet (Oct 18, 2024)

v0.10 is now in its final stages, and will be fully complete within the next week or two.

I'm committed to the November 4th release date. Since Steam does not allow release dates to be changed within 2 weeks of release, you can rest assured there won't be any delays. It's coming!

A new scene has been added to Act 2, where the MC can choose to fight Oruth with magic instead of swords. This approach puts them at much less of a disadvantage, as the MC quickly overpowers Oruth. While the sword version of events felt a bit reckless and irrational, opting to use magic will instead advance the plot through the MC underestimating their own power. My hope is that this magic version of events will address some of the criticisms players had with the MC's characterization in the original scene.

I've also expanded a few of the earlier scenes to show Valerie behaving more seductively. I felt it was important to emphasize this side of her succubus nature, which so far has been relatively tame. I'll likely be expanding this even further over the next few updates.

Much of the dialogue during fight scenes has also been revised. There have been some complaints about the fight scene dialogue feeling a bit cliché, so I've removed most of the tropes and one-liners, replacing them with lines that are more restrained and natural. Among other changes, I've also adjusted some of Valerie's dialogue to reduce her use of modern-day slang. Overall, v0.10 should see a significant improvement in writing quality.

Additionally, this update will allow players to discuss their boundaries and relationship with Valerie, if you previously chose to allow her flirting with customers. I had originally planned this to be part of v0.11, but instead moved it to a scene in the current update. This means Valerie will be able to fool around with a customer in the next update - but only if you explicitly choose to allow it.

Rebel Duet (Oct 3, 2024)

The new story content for v0.10 has been completed. From here, I'll be working on the training content, Gallery Mode, and various improvements, as I'd like to polish the game as much as possible before the Steam (v0.10) release.

Speaking of which, the release date is now scheduled for Nov 4 (Mon).

There were a few reasons for this decision. Mainly, I wanted a little bit of extra time for minor things like localizations and re-making certain images from the early game that I felt were subpar. You can see an example of one such scene in the images above. More realistic lighting, a more subtle depth-of-field effect, more emotive facial expressions - that sort of thing. Having these few extra days of development is a lifesaver since it gives me the time to improve on older content that isn't quite up to the current standard of quality.

(I also didn't feel it was a good idea to compete with all the other games releasing in late-October. It's much less crowded in November, which should help Rebel Duet stand out more on release.)

I've made changes to certain areas of the dialogue, based on the feedback received. For example, the player will now be able to decide their own stance on social issues like slavery and treatment of non-humans. Also, instead of the relationship with Valerie being assumed an exclusive one, the player will be to decide for themselves if the two are committed to each other or if it's just a partnership and sexual relationship.

There's much more I have planned (or have already added), so I'll leave most of this for the patch notes and instead focus on describing the larger additions and improvements that I think players are most interested in.

There will be one or two more progress updates coming before the Nov 4th release. I hope you're excited to play it. If you have any feedback, please feel welcome to share your thoughts!

Casual Desires (Oct 1, 2024)

Recently, I've been working on a modified build of Casual Desires for Steam. This was sent to Valve for review yesterday. If the game is approved - fingers crossed - I will be able to finally launch the store page and build towards a full release for next year.

Of course, the main focus right now is releasing Chapter 20, which has taken far too long already. But I felt it was important for Casual Desires in the long-run to also get the game listed on Steam. A Steam release would allow me to devote more time to its development, which until now has been more of a hobby than a full-time project. My hope is to bring new content to players at a much faster pace. If the game is successful enough, there is also the potential for other talented people to join the project and turn it into a much bigger game than it currently is.

But first things first, the game needs to be approved. With this Steam build, I've made the necessary changes to ensure CD fully abides by Steam's rules. I can't say for sure that it will get approved, though, so these next few days are going to have me feeling pretty anxious...

In terms of a release date for v0.20, this is a tricky one to answer since the Steam release of RD is coming in just three weeks - and there's a lot I need to work on until then. But I would say the very latest you can expect to play Chapter 20 would be November, a few weeks after the RD Steam release. I understand that this is later than my previous estimations, and for that I apologize.

If the Steam version gets approved, I'll make a new post to let everyone know! Regardless, there will be another progress update coming soon, once I've had the time to determine a release day.

(Note: From Oct 2 onwards, patrons who attack/insult the developer will have their subscription refunded and will be permanently blocked from re-subscribing. It is fine to express disappointment, but there is a line that has been crossed by a couple individuals.)

Rebel Duet (Sep 21, 2024)

Rebel Duet will officially release on Steam on November 4th (Monday), at 10:00 AM PST. This will coincide with the new update, which will also be available on Patreon and itch later that day.

I expect to have the new story content fully completed by the end of this month, which leaves the final three weeks for things like the Gallery Mode, training content, improvements, and localizations (such as Chinese).

A quick note: what was previously planned as v0.9 will now be labeled as v0.10 to avoid confusing Steam players, since starting with v0.9 for the first release might seem a bit odd.

In terms of content, I've already plotted my plans for the next several updates.

v0.11 will introduce the map system, allowing players to relax and bond with characters of their choosing. There will also be more development regarding Annestria and her sister, as well as the option to have a sexual fling with Mira as a reward for defeating Oruth.

v0.12 will focus on the protagonist's past through a flashback. If you've been frustrated with the protagonist's recent actions, this update will mark a turning point, as their character arc has been building up specifically to this moment in the story.

The Steam release (v0.10) will also expand on some of the content from earlier updates. This includes an optional variation for the female protagonist during the Act 2 prostitute event, where she can choose to pay for a man instead. Additionally, players will be given the option to fight Oruth using magic instead of swords, changing the flow of battle and putting them at much less of a disadvantage.

Rebel Duet (Sep 7, 2024)

v0.9 of Rebel Duet is now around 40% complete, with over 150 new renders added so far.

Earlier this week, I sent the game build to Valve for review. Once Rebel Duet is approved for release, I'll pick a specific day and announce it both here and on Steam. My goal is to release it either at the end of this month or within the first half of October. If there are troubles with the approval process, though, it could take a few weeks longer. Fingers crossed.

If (and only if) you told Valerie you don't mind her flirting with customers, there will be a special scene between her and a customer (either female or male) at the tavern. Valerie flirts but ultimately declines their request to share a drink. In the next update, the MC and Valerie will have a conversation about what you will and won't allow. You can keep it to women only, flirting or touching only, or no restrictions. You can even tell her to stop if you would like to back out of this content. It's completely up to you what type of succubus you would like Valerie to be.

The sex scene between Rena and the MC is now mostly complete. Whereas the sex scenes with Valerie are a lot more carnal and focused on the pleasure aspect, the sex scene with Rena is more romantic in nature. I'd definitely recommend giving the scene a look even if you aren't interested in romancing Rena, since it's a bit different from the sex scenes I usually create.

Story-wise, Act 3 will be quite a bit darker than the previous story arcs. In particular, the flashback of the MC's past is the part of the game I've been most excited to work on. But before we get there, players will have some time to relax and bond with the characters. So, while the next couple of updates will be more slice-of-life, rest assured that Act 3 will be going into some heavy territory. I also expect Act 3 to be very long, potentially even the longest of all planned story arcs.

With that said, I hope you enjoyed this progress update. I'll have more to share in the next week or two.

Rebel Duet (Aug 27, 2024)

v0.9 of Rebel Duet is progressing smoothly, with the first few scenes already completed. I expect it will be released alongside the Steam version in late September, although there's a chance it could take a couple of weeks longer.

This update features a special moment between the MC and Rena as they join her on a date to her old cottage. While they've already spent plenty of time together, this is the first time they'll be together as friends, for something that isn't strictly business. Rena will reminisce about her past, and the MC can open up to her about Earth and their experiences arriving in this foreign world.

Most importantly, players can choose to hug Rena, and even make love to her. Don't worry if you decide not to have sex—this won't lock you out of future content with her, so you can still share this special moment with her later if you wish.

The MC also takes time to reflect on the events of the previous update and the consequences of their 'deal'. Act 3 will see a major turning point in the MC's character arc, where they confront their past and resolve to be a better person. Although I’ve intentionally crafted them as a flawed character who makes mistakes, this will change significantly after the flashback sequence midway through Act 3.

Looking ahead, the next few updates will see a return to daily life, with a larger focus on romance, sexual content, and character development. If you're curious about the plot of Act 3, I'll give you a hint: there was a certain Higher Vampire who visited the MC some nights ago.

Anyway, there's tons to discuss regarding v0.9 and future plans for the story, but I'll save some of these details for the next progress update. I hope you're as excited as I am for what's to come.

Casual Desires (Aug 27, 2024)

Hi everyone,

I apologize for the delay and any concern it may have caused. It's busy season for ionDivvy right now, with Chapter 20 coming alongside the Steam release of RD.

My goal is to release Chapter 20 by the end of September and resume a normal schedule for the game afterwards. However, there's a chance this could slip into early-mid October if the Steam build runs into unexpected problems. I would really prefer this not to happen, as I already feel bad about how long this chapter has taken to release.

Looking ahead, from Chapter 21 onwards, I would like to add more content that appeals to me personally. In recent months, Casual Desires has been a bit of a struggle for me to work on, and I think a large part of that has been due to me favoring community suggestions over my personal vision. While I will continue listening to feedback and incorporating suggestions where they make sense, I also want to prioritize the ideas I'm most excited about, as I believe this will help bring fresh energy to the game.

In addition, I'll be developing a Steam version for Casual Desires over the next couple of months. There's a few areas that need changes and improvements before I can send the build to Valve for review. I had hoped to do this sooner, but releasing Chapter 20 is the priority right now.

I hope you enjoy the teaser images shared above. There isn't too much left to describe regarding this chapter, though that could change if extra scenes are added prior to the release.

Rebel Duet: Plans for v0.9

Now that v0.8 has been released, preliminary work for the next update can begin.

v0.9 will coincide with the Steam release of Rebel Duet. Both the regular (Patreon / itch) and Steam versions will run parallel with each other, receiving new updates at the same time.

A base price of $12.99 USD is being considered for the Steam version. There will be a launch discount bringing the price down to around $10 for the first week or so. Customers in other countries may also have cheaper prices set based on the economic status of their country.

Active Patrons who have contributed a total of $13 USD or more will be eligible to request a Steam key for free once it has released.

Though I can't say for sure when v0.9 will come out, somewhere around late September would be ideal. This largely depends on how quickly I can finish Chapter 20 of Casual Desires, and how many features from the 'possibly' category are added.

I'll be sharing more details about the new content in a progress update later this month. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy playing v0.8.

This is the biggest update for Rebel Duet so far, combining the original plans for both v0.8 and v0.9. It took quite a bit of effort to release such an update in a reasonable amount of time, but I'm very happy with how it turned out overall.

This version concludes Act 2, and sets the stage for Act 3 in the epilogue. Out of the 8 planned story arcs for Rebel Duet, Act 3 is the one I have been most excited to work on, and I can't wait to get started. In the meantime, though, I hope you enjoy the conclusion to the Oruth story arc!

The new training positions include: Anal Reverse Cowgirl (Male), Bondage Sex (Male), Blindfold Deepthroat (Male), Strap-On Sex (Female), Blindfold Cunnilingus (Female), and Bondage Fingering (Female).

As a head's up, these sex scenes will need to be accessed through an older save (or fast-forwarded to in a new playthrough), as the story content in v0.8 does not have a new training session. You will also need the appropriate toys for some of these positions, which can be obtained during the second visit to the sex shop.

Rebel Duet (Jun 30, 2024)

Update: The new version will be released on August 5. Apologies for the wait!

v0.8 of Rebel Duet is nearly complete, with a release estimated roughly two weeks from now. Though it's difficult to give an exact date and time, I'll be updating this article and posting on Discord 1-2 days before release, to let everyone know it's coming.

In terms of image count, v0.8 is actually the biggest update I've ever created, surpassing my previous record of 414 new images with Chapter 17 of Casual Desires. There's a lot of new content here, so if you ever felt the previous updates were a bit too short, v0.8 should feel much more satisfying.

While the protagonist has Oruth to contend with, Valerie is instead tasked with rescuing Annestria's sister - Ellania - from the depths of the gang's hideout. The player decides whether Valerie spares these gang members, or kills them for the suffering they have caused. This choice will have an influence on which route (Good or Corruption) the story can follow. If enough corruption points are gained, the option for that route will open up in a future story arc.

Annestria sports another new hairstyle in this update, which I felt was a very cute fit for her. For those wondering, her sister Ellania will also have a role in future updates, as the game's second side heroine. If you and Annestria get along well enough, you might even have the option for a threesome with the two elven sisters. :)

Anyway, that's about the extent of what I can share regarding v0.8, without going too far into spoiler territory.

Casual Desires (Jun 15, 2024)

Development for Chapter 20 is reaching its final stages, with a release expected by mid-July at the very latest.

For those interested in straight content, CJ make their return this chapter as a sexual option. In terms of outfits, you will be able to choose between either a rope bondage or maid outfit. Unlike the Chapter 14 scene which required vaginal penetration, it will now be possible to select anal-only penetration, vaginal-only, or both.

Rita will also be able to start a relationship (exclusive or open-relationship) with these two friends of hers. In the future, I plan to add further choices for Rita to date only one of them in particular (Josh or Connor). In the interest of moving content along at a reasonable pace, though, this will be a throuple sort of deal for the time being.

Luna also receives her long-awaited date and confession scene. One of the spots they visit is a ferris wheel, which Rita and Luna can ride and spend a romantic moment with each other. If they choose to become a couple, Rita will go to Luna's house, where Luna will introduce Rita to her mom and brother - as her girlfriend. Her mom and brother will then leave the house for a while, to give the new lovebirds some time to themselves. Of course... this also means Rita and Luna will have another opportunity to 'play' with each other.

If Rita chooses to take the interview for the porn actress job, she will have something of a 'casting couch' moment where she must display her skills before the camera. This can be masturbation (if you would like Rita to keep her virginity, for example), or it can involve full sex with the director, either male or female. Unsurprisingly, Rita passes the interview with flying colors, allowing her to take part in various porn shoots throughout future chapters.

Regarding the release schedule, I recognize Chapter 20 has taken a very long time to develop, largely due to the upcoming Steam release for Rebel Duet. After the Chapter 20 release, I'll be forcing myself to keep to a regular schedule (10 CD renders per day minimum, 5 days a week), so that new chapters will take no longer than 2-3 months each.

Rebel Duet (Jun 13, 2024)

v0.8 of Rebel Duet is approaching release! I would estimate it's around 75-80% complete now, and should be ready to play either late this month or early July.

This update adds the first set of BDSM positions, as well as strap-on sex (for the female MC). These scenes will become available depending on the items purchased at the sex shop. While there's still a number of positions that need to be added before the Steam release (such as aphrodisiacs and body lotions), this update should spice up the training content quite a bit. Going forward, there will be more of a mix of vanilla and fetish content added with each release.

In the 'Statistics' screen, I've added a 'Special Items' category which will display all the training items you've acquired. Later, this will grow to include other (optional) things like tentacles, a seal for the MC to duplicate themselves, and much more.

I'll also be adding some anal variations to the story sex scenes, which will be selectable if enough anal XP was acquired in the training scenes.

In terms of story, the big fight between the MC and Oruth is now fully complete. I'm very happy with how it's turned out, and I hope players will enjoy this climactic showdown between the two. The battle turns quite dark and bloody (especially if the MC chooses to take Oruth's life), but I felt it was important to make this part of the story as tense as possible.

Currently, the training content, two story scenes, and the dialogue are what remain in terms of development. This release will conclude Act 2, with Act 3 set to begin in the v0.9 release.

Rebel Duet (May 24, 2024)

v0.8 is now over halfway complete!

During their search for Oruth, the MC is approached by a mysterious rogue. She is revealed to be the leader of her own gang, and tells the MC that a significant portion of the criminal underworld would also like to see Oruth's demise.

This rogue will be one of the game's side heroines. While she won't be a main character, she will have sex scenes in the future, and will overall prove a powerful ally for the MC and their crew. Perhaps a good point of comparison would be Lucius, since they both play supporting (yet significant) roles in the story.

As part of her role as a gang leader, I've designed her to look a bit rougher than the other girls, as well as being more morally grey. If you choose to take the corruption/evil route in the story, she will be a particularly good match for the MC, and may even play a larger role in certain story developments.

Clothing variants have been added for Rena in one of her scenes. Depending on your choice in the previous update, she will either wear witch-like clothes or traditional clothes more frequently. This update also sees the first bit of romantic development between Rena and the MC, which will play an even larger role in v0.9. Personally, I'm very excited to work on Rena's romance scenes, as I think her position as a former antagonist will lead to some very powerful moments between the two.

I've also spent some time making minor UI improvements. In particular, an option has been added to the settings screen for the player to change their preferred hairstyle for Valerie. So, if you ever wish to try something new, all you need to do is click on a different hairstyle and the scenes will play out accordingly. I may also add a similar option for Rena's clothing style, so players won't ever feel like they're stuck with a decision they might regret some hours later.

Anyway, I hope you like these changes, as well as the new character! I'll have more to share soon, including the new sexual content!

Rebel Duet (May 14, 2024)

v0.8 is now roughly 40-50% complete, with a release expected some time in June.

As Annestria (or Ann, as Valerie likes to call her) will be staying at the protagonist's house, I've chosen a few different outfits and hairstyles for her to alternate between, depending on the situation. Although a ponytail will be her main style, you can also expect to see her hair down or in pigtails from time to time.

A couple days were spent designing a map system, which will unlock early in Act 3 (v0.9). The player will occasionally get free days, in which they can interact with a heroine of their choosing, or see events involving other locations and characters (e.g. the adult shop or Lucius). This will be one of the main ways to romance the girls, and there will also be some optional sexual events to enjoy.

The last two images are a work-in-progress, but should give a general idea of what the system might look like. Free days will be split into two segments (morning and afternoon), and clicking on one of the character/event portraits will begin the scene. If one of the scenes is sexual in nature, there will be a heart icon next to it, making it easy to understand at a glance. There will also be some events involving multiple characters, which will be especially appealing for players on the corruption path, or those who are looking to start a harem!

To be clear, this is not intended to resemble a sandbox. All scenes in the map system will be optional side events, with the vast majority of the game continuing to play out in a visual novel format. Overall, I felt this feature would be a nice way to give the players more freedom (and make Rebel Duet feel like more of a 'game'), especially as it will be launching on Steam soon.

Casual Desires (May 3, 2024)

Apologies for the wait! Chapter 20 of Casual Desires is finally getting closer to completion.

This chapter sees the climax of several substories, including the delivery driver (who Rita will now be able to have full sex with) and Luna's adventures at the art club. If Luna is involved in the female version of events, Luna will take the lead this time, whereas in the male version, Luna can choose to have penetrative sex with a man for the first time.

Of course, there will be more opportunities for Luna to have some solo fun in the future, such as with her professor (female or male). There will also likely be a continuation of the art club storyline towards the end of the game, where Luna can have sex with other club members - perhaps even in a group setting!

Chapter 20 takes the timeline up to October 29th, which means a certain holiday will be coming soon: Halloween. Although I'm still not one-hundred-percent decided on how to best handle the Halloween event in Chapter 21, you can be certain that Rita and the girls will be dressed in various spooky (and sexy) outfits. Perhaps Rita might get frisky with the girls, or go trick-or-treating and have some fun with a stranger at the door.

Anyway, I hope you look forward to the next chapter (as well as Chapter 21). I'd like to give a more precise release date, but if I've learned anything these past few months, it's that I'm really bad at predicting these things.

The next progress update will tease the Luna date/confession scenes, CJ content, and porn star interview.

Rebel Duet (Apr 24, 2024)

v0.8 is underway, and will feature the climactic conclusion to the current story arc - Act 2!

After the end of the previous update, the protagonist decides it is not safe for Annestria to be outside anymore, given what has happened to her sister. Thus, Annestria joins the protagonist at their home, where Annestria can feel safe under the protection of our succubus, Valerie.

Whereas the relationship between Valerie and Rena was (and to a lesser degree still is) hostile, Valerie immediately takes a liking to Annestria. Enamored after seeing an elf for the first time, and also finding Annestria herself to be extremely adorable, Valerie takes her to the bedroom to chat, while the protagonist begins to plot their next move.

The second and final encounter with Oruth will be a one-on-one duel to the death, pushing the protagonist to their absolute limits. It will be possible to make a mistake and die during this fight, and likewise, the player will be able to decide whether to kill or spare Oruth, should they win the fight. This decision will have a major impact on a future storyline, and will also push you closer to either the 'good' or the 'corruption' route of the story.

Originally, I was planning to end v0.8 with the clash of their swords, and have v0.9 feature the fight and the aftermath/ending of Act 2. However, I've decided to combine both of these into a single large update, as I felt this would lead to a more satisfying experience overall.

v0.8 will also feature major improvements to the training system, such as the ability to level up sexual stats and use items from the sex shop. I may also add anal variations to some of the story sex scenes if there is enough development time.

This update introduces some very important characters and plot points, and sets the stage for the upcoming Act 2 climax! While no new training positions have been added in v0.7, there are 6 new sex scenes added as part of the new story content.

There's a chance a v0.7b patch will be released in the next few days, adding animations to the new sex scenes, as well as small changes and/or bug fixes depending on player feedback.

Rebel Duet (Mar 25, 2024)

v0.7 of Rebel Duet is in its final stages of development!

In terms of a release date, you can expect to play the new update somewhere between April 8 - April 12. I'd like to give a more precise date, but I wouldn't want to put myself in a situation where I might feel pressured to rush something. Following a more flexible timeframe will ensure new updates are released in the best state possible!

During the tavern sex scene with Valerie, the player will be able to choose who takes the lead. This will influence the MC's dominance/submissiveness stat, and will change the flow of the sex scene itself, with different positions corresponding to your choice. In future updates, this stat will also have an impact on the nightly training scenes, with Valerie and the MC behaving in a more dominant or submissive manner.

As a small bonus, hairstyle variations have been added to the walking event with Valerie and Rena. I'm considering adding a similar option to customize Rena's appearance in some scenes, whether that might be a hairstyle preference or choosing between either Japanese-inspired clothes or witch-styled outfits. You can let me know if there's a particular style you'd like to see for Rena!

A number of important characters are introduced in this update, including future antagonists, and even a short glimpse of the MC's sister and father. These scenes will help lead the game into future story arcs, as events are foreshadowed much earlier than they will occur. Perhaps this update may already hint at what one or two of these story arcs could involve?

Although I'm not one-hundred-percent decided yet, I'm strongly considering combining v0.8 and v0.9 into a single large update, rather than two smaller updates. This means we might be seeing the conclusion of Act 2 in v0.8. I feel this would be a better experience for players, as they would be able to play through the Act 2 climax in one-go without any unexpected cliffhangers.

For the time being, though, I hope you will enjoy playing v0.7 soon. It's quite a big update!

Rebel Duet (Mar 9, 2024)

v0.7 is now 65% complete, with a release coming in 2-3 weeks!

This update features our new elf friend - Annestria - and her pet dragon. While Annestria was always intended to be a major character in the story, I've chosen to significantly increase her role in the game by promoting her to main character status. In other words, Rebel Duet will be a story about four primary characters: the MC, Valerie, Rena, and Annestria - and how their personal goals intersect.

Rather than magic, Annestria is proficient with beasts, traps, knives and throwing objects. I felt it was important to give her a unique fighting style, seeing as there are already two mages in the crew. Her pet dragon will also provide a bit of comedy relief, which will help to balance the mood of the game, especially as things will be heading into some very dark territory in Acts 3 & 5.

There will also be more development between the other two heroines in this update. The protagonist will invite Rena to join them on a walk with Valerie, marking the first time the three share a (mostly) peaceful moment outside. That said... while Rena and Valerie are no longer complete enemies, they are still far from friends, and it will take quite a while yet before they truly warm up to each other. Small steps!

I've also added a short scene to the start of the game (after the initial tutorial), where Valerie appears and speaks to the MC in a dream. I felt this would better foreshadow the summoning, seeing as Valerie had mentioned seeing the MC in a vision before.

Casual Desires (Mar 3, 2024)

Apologies for the wait! Chapter 20 is now roughly halfway complete, with a release expected some time in April.

This chapter adds a number of highly-requested scenes and storylines, including the return of Mia, who will invite Rita on another camping trip. As Mia is a potential love interest, this camping trip (coming in a later chapter) will include the option to start a relationship with Mia, locking the player into a unique ending for her character, should they so wish.

If the player decides to follow the porn star storyline, Rita will have her interview this chapter, which will require Rita to show off her 'skills', so to speak. As the porn star path will be quite lengthy and involved, I felt it would be best to start this sooner rather than later, especially as the amount of remaining chapters is becoming more limited.

There will be more (optional) sexual content involving Luna at university, and Luna and Connor/Josh will have their respective sex scenes and romantic confessions, similar to Violet's role at the end of the previous chapter.

I've also decided to try something a bit different with Chapter 20, by including a scene where Rita plays a computer game with side-by-side visuals. I felt this might add some variety to the story, and that it might help players feel more connected to Rita's daily life. There's also a deeper meaning here, as it teases the 'future'.

Rebel Duet (Feb 17, 2024)

v0.7 of Rebel Duet has been progressing nicely, with a release coming some time in March!

Since players have been requesting more story sex scenes, this update will provide plenty of that - including an opportunity to get it on with Valerie at the tavern. The MC will arrive to pick up Valerie and walk home together. As the tavern has already closed down for the night, the two will have the place to themselves, should you wish to have sex in such a public environment.

On the way home, the MC will ask Valerie about her tavern patrons. While Valerie has shut down all flirtations and compliments (as she is loyal to the MC), the MC can decide whether or not they would be bothered by the idea of Valerie being flirted with. Your choice here will influence whether or not optional sharing content will be available later in the game.

If you talked with Valerie in the previous update about your sexual freedom, you will also have the option to have sex with a prostitute in this update. Naturally, there will different versions of the scene depending on whether you are playing a male or female protagonist. While the prostitute in both cases will be female, there will be situations later in the game where a female MC can have sex with male characters - provided the player makes a choice defining her as bisexual.

v0.7 represents roughly the halfway-point of Act 2. While the end of v0.7 will make it clear what the MC's objective for this story arc will be, I've also included a scene that foreshadows the events of Act 3. Perhaps this scene might give a taste of the gothic horrors that await...

Apologies for the wait! This update contains a bit of everything: romance, character development, build-up for future sex events, lore & worldbuilding, and even a fight scene where the MC gets to kick some butt.

In terms of new training positions, v0.6 adds Vaginal Dildo (Female), Anal Dildo (Female), Anal Missionary (Male), and Carrying Sex (Male). While some positions now require a certain amount of XP to unlock, the requirements are quite low, so you will still be able to unlock the full contents of each category quite easily.
