Public catch-up

Hi everyone. Having looked back, I can see it's been over a month since I last updated anyone outside the paywall on what's going on, so today's public update will focus on the current state of play of both the new content and of things with me more broadly.

On the latter, I can't tell whether things are getting quieter or I'm just adapting to a new normal that's outrageously busy. Either way, I've chosen to focus on content development over promotion and ancillary activities, so updates here have been more sparse, I'm two picture packs behind and commissions will remain closed for the time being. However, I remain committed to my goal of delivering 0.9 before Christmas. I am working on the game, even if I'm not telling you about it every week ^^

Upcoming content

How's 0.9 going? So glad you asked! Writing and mapmaking are more or less wrapped up, coding and integration with the game is proceeding smoothly and rendering has started, as have previews. We are in the mid-to-late stage of the development cycle. This update will focus mostly on home, as the new content takes place there and outside school. We'll be getting to see a few new areas of the city and meeting some new characters. As well as the titular character Madeline, I've also revealed to supporters the character model for a mysterious new girl named Chloe who's somehow involved in all this.

A new minigame will allow Missy to "work" in the Red Light District, but as she doesn't have a licence, you'll need to dodge the patrolling town guard (or not,) in order to attract clients! As with most minigames, it's fairly simple and straightforward but will hopefully be a lot of fun to both win and lose!

Alancia's isn't completely forgotten in this update though, we also have a new second period event, Health Inspection appearing as well as an after-school "activity" linked to it. As always, Missy will not enjoy either of these events.

Karen Interview

Finally, it's now been over a year since our last just-for-fun character interview. For those who've joined us since then, back in quieter times, one of the ways I'd pass the time here between updates was by asking you to submit questions for my girls which they'd then answer. Karen was the last one to be chosen and I do still have the questions those of you submitted noted down, but I could do with a few more. So ask away in the comments, by PM or on Discord and if things are quiet, I'll get Karen's interview up!
