It was an archnoble's. It was stolen from Hildemarie's family, Eckhart's late wife. Its theft is why the rest of her books are now in Ferdinand's collection. The second wife started stealing and selling them all. Since she was Veronica's retainer her father wasn't able to stop his new wife from dismantling the house. Trudilide was supposed to do the same to the Linkberg house once her son was baptized. Not with books specifically but the goal was to tear them apart from the inside.

I kinda doubt it was an Archnoble. They'd have made a bigger deal about an Archnoble going broke enough that they have to sell their belongings.

Pretty certain that the money used to pay for the book was Justus personal funds.

So something that's not really explained is the commoner side of hierarchy. For Myne's mother. Corina is higher in status because she is a well known seamstress and Effa who works in that line of work is classed as lower. So they can't really refuse the invitation as it would be seen as rude. However, if Otto had invited them they could of refused as her dad is higher rank than Otto and thus has the ability to say no without rudeness

Culture shock and miscomunication due to differences in upbringing and common sense are main themes in the novels. It just shows that Justus and Eckart (which are always shown as hyper competent later on) have no clue in how to act around commoners. Their worlds are just too different.

That book is worth 10x that. It's a magic book that belonged to a really high ranking noble. It's roughly worth what a real, in good working order, magic tool is. The kind that doesn't last one use but instead a lifetime.
