Naked on the Internet, unprofessional?

Hey you!

First of all, I hope you are doing great and that this week is treating you well!

Today I wanted to talk about a subject that's been in my life for years: should being naked on the internet be considered unprofessional?

Being naked simply means exposing one's body. We all have one, and while they all are quite unique with their very own particularities, they also are pretty much the same and more supposed to be functional than beautiful. Censoring them more and more creates a taboo around something that's literally the most simple thing in our lives: the freakin shells we live in. Nudity happens to be sexualized but I don't think it should be the naked person's responsibility to make sure no one sexualize them (especially since literally everything can be sexualized...)

On another hand, a profession is just a way to contribute to society's well being, ideally by using special skills we develop during our life time. Capitalism made a whole thing about it that turns around shame and arbitrary validation, but I don't even think only tasks with monetary transactions should be considerate as work. I personally call work all the actions I take to make the world a better place at my level, and based on my own value system. Obviously, there is tasks I like more than others, and some that I have to do even if they don't go towards my vision of a better world. It may be very utopistic of me to think that way, but that's the way I currently look at it.

What does being naked on the internet has to do with professionalism?
I don't fucking know. Some would say you have to reach some random standards to be validated as a professional being, some others would even evoke "respect" as an argument, but I don't understand any of this (or I'd say that I understand it enough to decide to not participate to this huge no sense).

Life is too short to limit yourself with stupid social codes that no one fully agree with or even understands. Be naked or don't be naked. Work too much or not enough, work naked, work in ski apparel, I don't care. Just be happy and help others around you feel happy as well. That's all that matter at the end. And being naked on the internet makes me and some other people feel happy so I guess I'm doing it right... right?

I feel like this post was sponsored by Captain Obvious but I hope my naive train of thoughts may have helped you at some level... What do you think about this subject? I'd love to have your opinion!

Have a great day, don't hesitate to question the world you live in, and have fun!

Flavie
