28 Days Later UNCUT FIRST WATCH

I got heated, but rightfully so.. was not expecting the story to go in that direction

28 Days Later UNCUT FIRST WATCH

Comments

I liked Mark as well, but I did like Jim's character development. I'll add Annihilation to my list, watching 28 weeks later in the next few days!

Yes good call with the subs. They are definitely necessary for most people outside of Britain

They managed to film the empty street at the start by filming just after a summer sunrise at like 4am and getting everything completed as quickly as they could. The director also did Trainspotting which I know is on your watchlist and his films are known for their soundtracks. With Trainspotting I'm not sure if its worth having subtitles at the ready just in case you need them with the thick Scottish accents.

I saw both films in theaters. Not a huge fan of this one. I'd probaby go 3 stars out of 5. I preferred Mark in his brief screen time to Jim and hated seeing him go so early because the guy he helped decided to watch home movies. The creepiest scene is easily when the two infected in the church immediately jolt up and stare when they hear hello. The sergeant was the only smart character in the film. The infection took hold too rapidly for any plane or other mode of transportation to ever get anywhere. 28 Weeks Later is much better for me. An interesting new arc, more infected carnage that I felt was lacking in this movie and of course Rose Byrne. Personally, I find both director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland's masterpiece to be Sunshine. I drove over an hour to see that film theatrically because Fox totally botched it's release, and it's one of the top three theater experiences I've ever had. Garland also stepped into the director's chair for his own incredible sci-fi horror, Annihilation.
