Either by the user or in some cases the target. The Captain's eyes were glowing in the last scene. Thus he was using his powers (or was maybe being controlled). Next he had sent Klein to check out downstairs and he did know he would be back soon. The Captain's dreams/nightmares could not be distinguished from reality. It has been stated before that telling dream from reality is hard for Nightmare. So, was what Klein saw was a nightmare or reality? Second, was what the Captain experience a nightmare or reality? Third, was it a conscious action or a subconscious action? So what caused the scene? * It was a nightmare caused by the Captain's grief, guilt, and regret. (this is the one I like) * The witch blood curse was still active. * He looked at the mirror. * The witches death created a beyonder artifact which was messing with him. * One of the many spiders bit him. * Either the witch or Saint left traps in the room. * The Saint, or another witch, got there and corrupted him. * In order to absorb the potion he must act like a nightmare. * He lost control. (I hope not) Last, would the death of the witch delay the apocalypse? I assume the Saint has more agents. It could be anyone, or multiple, or something else altogether.
