It was a weekly show tho so most people watched it weekly as it came out. I also completely understand Luke. It is so hard to keep up with all of the names especially when they are so different to your norm on names you come by most often. I also barely remember the main character names usually since they use them so constantly in anime series.

I mean, you most likely remember the plot but any details as to what has happened over the course of these 2 seasons you've already forgotten. Human memory is not that incredible(in most people) π Also, regarding your brooding in the last minutes - Loulan literally said it - they would all be murdered for this coup including the women and children. Yes, in ancient times - your whole bloodline gets merc'd if someone committed crimes against royalty, to make sure no seeds of revenge remain.

So her thought was it would be more humane for the children, who had nothing to do with it, to die peacefully in their sleep after being given sweets and a story. Rather then to live through the violent invasion, carnage, then beheading of all their families including them.

2025-08-24 20:00:43 +0000 UTCExecuting the families of traitors and enemies was a common practice in ancient times, for two reasons: Even if they're still children, will one day grow up and may seek revenge. Discouragement effect, would you consider betraying someone if you knew the penalty was having your children executed?

2025-08-24 03:50:29 +0000 UTCThe kids would have been violently executed. Maomao couldn't save them. The fact that they're innocent is irrelevant.

2025-08-23 23:01:55 +0000 UTCI mean Shisui literally says her reasons. Their families committed treason. Even the women and children will be executed. That's the law. Die by horrific execution or die sleeping peacefully. Pick one because that's the only two options for those kids. Shisui picked for the kids not to suffer, the better of two evils.
