The sketch animatic for the work-in-progress 2-minute peach animation. Let me know if you like/dislike seeing WIP stuff like this. Download below!
For those interested in animation, this is the part of my process where I primarily figure out the character posing, shot composition, and backgrounds. There's minimal facial and bathroom-related animation, since I find it more productive to figure that stuff out once the rest of the visuals have been finalized.
You'll notice that some shots only use one sketch, while others use many sketches. If there's only one sketch, it's because I have a strong idea of how the final shot can be animated. If I use a lot of sketches, it generally means I was testing something out to make sure it looked right.
While I don't always do the entire sketching process all at once, I've found that completing each type of task all at once helps with my productivity, rather than completing each shot one-at-a-time. Being able to stay in a "sketching mindset", a "coloring mindset", a "body animation mindset", etc, helps me stay productive. Switching types of tasks constantly to complete a shot is very taxing on the mind, although it may differ from person to person.
