battle scars

been digging the idea of my gorilla working as a long-haul space trucker who gets into trysts at various way-stations, answering suspicious distress beacons, getting into blue-collar-space trouble etc etc--at some point, he and a few other spacers are drinking and trading war stories/battle scars

"a few years ago, this guy i used to know from horsehead-12; i think he was jovian, originally--big as a fucking industrial freezer, -wide- too. we had a long weekend together once, and afterwards, none of my DNA-ident worked. i couldn't even get my comm-screen working to troubleshoot what was wrong! i thought it was a solar flare or a wraith-wave or some bad space weather, but i went and talked to a doctor about it and he had -resequenced- me, dude. i dont even think my fingerprints are the same anymore. what a wild fuck."

"oh, haha, me? well, i uh... i picked up this asteroidian once, and he didnt have any federation credits or anything, so... one thing led to another..."
