(Female) I guess it looked like a battle of endurance. Who would give in first? Would I be able to choke out Ruby or would Nyx punch my face off and force me to let go?
(Male) Did you let go?
(Female) Of course I did. But not due to the reasons they hoped for. Nyx was so certain she had the advantage she moved into striking range on her own volition. She was using Ruby as bait, thinking I wouldn’t give up the chance to break the bitch. But as much as I wanted that, I wanted to destroy Nyx much … much more.
(Female pauses.)
(F) I tackled Nyx with a preemptive strike. Flying right under her guard, locking her down with my arms and shooting a knee straight into her face. Her nose exploded, bloodying my knee and we went tumbling down onto the ground together. For only a brief moment, I had the upper hand and I knew I had to exploit it. I had to end this fight as fast as I could because …
(Female exhales loudly.)
(F) I caught Ruby in the corner of my eye. She slammed her dislocated shoulder back into place, screaming down the heavens. So even though I had the bigger threat locked down for the moment, I knew Ruby would rejoin the fight and things could only get worse for me.
