PLAYBACK --- OPERATION FLYING DUTCHMAN // POST-OP DEBRIEF

(The male interviewer lets out a long exasperated breath. The sound of chair with metal legs being dragged on concrete. Tapping on the table.)

(Male) Details agent. We need details.

(Pause)

(Female) Following the plan, I ducked into one of the cabins to change into my swimsuit. If we were lucky, nobody would bother me and I’d snoop around the crew quarters for a bit. Alternatively if one of Magnus’ hounds came sniffing after me, Baram would have a better shot at smooching up to Magnus.

I didn’t expect it to be Ruby though, as she seemed to be the more territorial of the two. She came up to me in the cabin and I didn’t even hear her move. She was a true predator.

Somehow I felt her gaze burning the skin of my back with killer intent, and I hated the fact that I was caught literally with my pants down. For the longest second I considered what the best course of action would be. Try to speak? Crack a joke? Pretend to be shy? Maybe feign shock at her invasion of privacy …

(Female sigh.)

(F) None of that mattered though. I was already one long second too late. Before I could even turn, she had already closed the distance and … what can I say. That bitch was really determined to assert her alpha status.
