As Luna’s focus returns to the present she is immediately smitten by Baram’s sight, triumphant and confident, standing atop her fallen opponent, presenting a trophy to her master - Madam Z.

“You may have lost the fight against Sadie last night. But that much was expected. It is our tradition to welcome our new members in a trial by fire.” Madam Z tells Luna with an ominous voice.

“Remember, you were chosen because life ended for you in the old world, but also because we sensed the potential in you. Don’t make us regret taking you in.” Continues Madam Z.

On the mat with her knees on the ground Maya drops her head low to Madam Z’s feet, lightly kissing them in a gesture of absolute submission. Her eyes glimmering with pinkish afterglow of the Hex’s influence.

“Learn from the experience little one. Train hard. Fight harder … Because the alternative is death.” Finishes Madam Z.

“Welcome to the Hex, Luna.” Chirps Baram, locking eyes with Luna. Her lips breaking into a devilish smile.
