Fox started displaying symptoms of early-onset Parkinson's disease in 1991 while shooting the film Doc Hollywood and was diagnosed shortly after that.

4 out of 5...my favorite part of the reaction was: Manurer is a fancy word for shit, for those who don't speak English, Biss has your back. Also if you notice at the end around the 1:45:00 mark the Mall has changed to Solo Pine instead of Twin Pines. And Michael J Fox is constantly doing something with his hands as he was struggling with Parkinson's Disease, he was either holding something, moving his hands or hiding them, and the dedication and help from his supporting actors was amazing to see. Hats off to him for his perseverance.

I used to watch this movie (and its sequels) all the time when I was a kid. All of my friends and I had a skateboard because of this movie. It's been great watching it again after so many years. And with fantastic comments added to it, that's a plus ;)

"5 cents for a coffeeeeeee?" (Imagines taking a dollar to a cafe and dying of a caffeine overdose.)

Really glad you enjoyed the movie. It is a favorite of so many of us who grew up in the 80s. Please continue watching the other two movies, they really do all connect and make one big movie. A 4.5 out of 5 for me. Also the Delorean car was picked as a kind of joke, because although they are very cool looking, they are NOT fast. 0 to 60 takes more than 9 seconds and top speed was maybe 130 on a good day.

Great Scott! is an exclamation of dismay or surprise. Many people first encountered this term by watching the Back to the Future movies, Great Scott! was a phrase used frequently by Christopher Lloyd’s character, Dr. Brown. The phrase Great Scott! can be traced to the 1800s, it is a reference to American General Winfield Scott. Winfield Scott was a major figure in the Mexican-American war in the late 1840s. Scott was also the commander-in-chief of the American Army at the outset of the Civil War. He was an imposing man, standing over six feet, five inches and weighing three hundred pounds, making it easy to understand how the word great became attached to his name. The men in his command adopted the exclamation Great Scott! as a way to “swear by” their leadership. Today, Great Scott is considered a somewhat old-fashioned expression.

Make like a tree and get out of here? Ok first off BIFF is the village idiot. The proper phrase Make like a tree and leave(It's a pun with TREE + LEAF)

Fun fact, the guy with the megaphone in the school gym who told Marty's band they're just too darn loud is Huey Lewis. The song they were playing was by Huey Lewis (also what was playing on the radio). Also, the cousin that the band guy called at the end "Chuck" was a nod to Chuck Berry, pioneer of Rock n Roll.

The reference to a Devo suit was a reference to an outfit that the band Devo wore.

A hope chest is where young women would store items for when they get married. My cousin had one in which she put a wedding dress that she bought before she had even found her man. It's really strange IMO.
