Now, let's talk about Sanji. I think they did a great job with Sanji. He's more smooth, suave, and immaculate than he is in the anime/manga and it really works here. I don't like that he didn't see Zoro's duel with Mihawk in episode 5. That duel felt like an epic event in the anime/manga, while it was a very personal affair here in the live action. I will say, that change did wonders for showing how close Nami is with Zoro here in the live action, but I don't like that it takes away a big moment for Sanji when he sees Zoro's resolve and drive for his dream. The problem with Baratie in the live action is that nothing hits like it does in the anime/manga. It's actually been a problem throughout the live action, but it's most apparent here in Baratie. It literally feels like the whole restaurant is Zeff, Sanji, and the fishman greeter. It feels devoid of life and energy. Then, there's the goodbye between Zeff and Sanji. Just, way too tame. I know the live action is trying to play to Western sensibilities here, but it just feels a bit sterile here. I will say, though, the addition of Arlong to the Baratie Arc in the live action is a good one. He's properly menacing here, especially with that deep ass voice lol. Sounds like he permanently has gravel in his throat in a good way. But yeah, he's an actual threat here, whereas, in the anime/manga, he never really felt like a threat to me. In the anime, his showdown with Luffy was a little too easy for Luffy, which is kind of the point since Luffy is a big fish in a little pond in the East Blue in the anime/manga. Here, Arlong thrashes Luffy here, so higher stakes. Anyway, the live action is enjoyable for sure, and they did as good a job as they could've in 8 episodes, but I do hope season 2 steps it up a bit.

When he first saw Luffy he commented he liked his hat. Mihawk knows Shanks, and is familiar with the strawhat. So he probably put 2 and 2 together then, and realised who he was.
