Ruby woke up with a smile on her face and a pep in her step. The reaper felt like she was on top of the world as she sidled up close to Jaune. They'd pressed their beds together last night so they could cuddle. She had to stop herself from squealing at how big and warm he felt in her arms. Gods, she'd missed this. How long had it been since she'd felt his warmth? Since he...
She shook her head to remove the painful memories and giggled at the silly look on Jaune's face. He looked so cute now. The Jaune she remembered was older and battle-hardened. He was only 21, but all the time they'd spent fighting for the fate of Remnant had aged them all. She could barely remember a time when she'd looked so innocent and bright-eyed.
She wanted to stay and cuddle with him more, but she knew that she had to get up soon. It'd been years since she'd been in Beacon, but she still remembered how Weiss always hogged the bathroom. Well, not this time. With great reluctance, she pried herself away from the sleeping blonde and sat up. She would've thought that it'd take her a while to get used to her old body again, but no, her skills were intact. She might not have been as strong as she was before, but she was still more than strong enough to do what she needed.
She looked down at Jaune's sleeping face again and smiled. She wanted to kiss him so badly right now, but she held off. Jaune didn't really know her yet, though she liked to think that some part of him understood the bond they shared...or would share. Ugh, time travel was confusing. Whatever. Jaune must've felt their bond too. Why else would he agree to push their beds together so soon after meeting?
Ruby closed her eyes briefly and, before she could stop herself, she leaned down and pressed a kiss against his forehead. The contact lasted for only a few seconds and when she pulled back she couldn't stop herself from giggling. Oh, things were going to be so much better now that she was back! She'd make sure everything went right, make sure that Cinder was stopped before she did anything, and then turn Salem to stone and drop her into the bottom of the ocean. Or maybe into the Ever After if she could convince the general.
Oh, and get into Jaune's pants by next week. She would've done it sooner, but she didn't wanna rush.
Weiss stirred behind her and Ruby rushed to the bathroom, locking the door before the heiress could get up from the bed. Not this time, Ice Queen, "Hm..." She washed her face and looked at her reflection in the mirror. She almost didn't recognize the face that looked back at her. Ruby had started training to be a Huntress from a young age, but she never could get rid of that little bit of baby fat. She blamed it on Yang's cooking and Beacon's amazing cafeteria food.
It was only when they'd gone on that months-long trip to Anima that she really lost it. Well, that and puberty finally hit. She'd gone from a small 5'2 to a...well, not towering, but still far taller 5'9; an inch taller than Yang herself. Plus she'd finally grown in more ways than one. Finding new clothes while they had to camp out and ration their funds was such a pain in the butt back then. There was a reason she kept those torn stockings of hers for months instead of buying new ones.
Seeing herself again made her lips curl in a frown, "Ugh..." She pulled up her pajama top and squeezed her flat stomach and small breasts. She'd get those back eventually, but she already missed her abs and boobs. Even the scars that lined her arms and fingers. She'd been so ashamed of them before, thinking that they were nothing more than marks of how much she failed, but Jaune taught her to feel different.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"J-Jaune, you don't have to-"
"So beautiful..." His lips pressed against one of the thin scars that lined her pale right arm. Ruby squirmed at the contact and let out a soft breath as he continued to trail downwards. Every kiss felt like fire against her skin and his patchy beard tickled with every gentle brush.
"I...I'm not pretty." She looked down at her scarred body. More and more they had to push themselves to their limits, and that meant fighting even when their Aura was low enough that they could get hurt like when Weiss had to beat that Arma Gigas. She'd lost count of how many times her Aura had nearly sputtered out and a new scar was added to her growing collection.
"Don't say that." Jaune's voice was firm and she gulped nervously as he suddenly picked her up. She loved Jaune, and he loved her, but they'd never had the time to really do anything about that. There was always something else to do. More Grimm to fight and more people to save. Who had time for a relationship in the chaos their life was? She'd always thought that they would keep going just like that.
Until he came into her room with a burning hunger in his eyes that made her weak at the knees. She couldn't resist him.
Ruby wrapped her arms tight around his neck and did the same with her stockinged legs on his waist. Despite how much taller she was compared to before, she still felt small in his muscular arms, "Jaune..." He set her down gently on the bed and positioned himself over her, arms at her sides and their eyes boring into each other. They'd changed so much these past four years, but the sheer adoration and love he showed made her feel innocent again.
"I can stop if you-"
"N-No, please don't." She chewed on her lower lip and held his right hand with her left. Slowly, gently, she guided his hand down to the top of her corset, "I...I hope you won't be disappointed."
"You'd never disappoint me, Rubes."
The nickname caused her to flush even harder. Jaune always could trip her up. She closed her eyes and squirmed as he deftly undid the laces of her corset followed by the buttons of her blouse. She tried not to feel too self-conscious as her bare chest was exposed to the open air. She didn't have as many scars there compared to her arms, but there was a particularly nasty bit of discolored flesh from where that monster Tyrian had stabbed her side.
Before they killed that bastard.
Jaune gently traced his calloused fingers through the patch of skin, "S-Sorry..."
"You have nothing to be ashamed of." He kissed her cheek then sat up again to take his own shirt off. He'd lost his old hoodie in the fall of Atlas and the Vacuo desert didn't leave much room for all-covering clothing anyway. Ruby looked up and licked her lips at the sight of his thick, corded muscles. Nora always joked that he'd gotten 'bigger' ever since they had to leave Beacon. She had no idea how right she was.
Ruby raised both her hands and groped at the hard muscles. She'd touched him before - the two of them had done their fair share of hugs over the years - but this was different. Better. Without his clothes in the way, she felt just how warm his skin was and how firm his abs were. He could give Sun a run for his money, Brothers rest his soul.
She shook the thought of past tragedies away and focused on the here and now. They lost so much these past few years, and tomorrow would decide whether it was all worth it or not. And it all hinged on her. Her and her special eyes. Her mom tried and failed, but she wasn't wrong. The only mistake she made was trusting Raven to help her because she didn't want to put anyone she loved at risk.
It was why the feelings that had been boiling over finally reached their breaking point. Why hesitate now when they could all die tomorrow?
"I've wanted you for so long..." Jaune said, voice low and throaty with desire.
"Me too, Jaune." Gods, she was crying now. Stupid, stupid, stupid. She should be happy. Her best friend was telling her exactly what she wanted to hear and she was crying like a little kid.
He wiped away her tears and pressed a soft kiss against her lips. It was sweet - gentle - and Ruby wanted more. She held the sides of his face and both hands and pulled him closer to deepen the gesture. It was her first kiss, as pathetic as that sounded. Four years fighting for Remnant meant that she never had the time to do anything like that. She had to admit, she was jealous of Yang and Blake for managing to find the time.
"Ruby, I..." He looked away for a moment. She was about to ask him what was wrong when she felt it. A hard bulge poked her thigh through his jeans. Ruby gasped. She knew that was what they were going to do, but seeing the effect she had on him was...it made her feel both embarrassed and intoxicated.
"This is because of me..." Her left hand crept down and rubbed his hardening cock through the rough fabric. Jaune bit back a moan and Ruby gasped. She wanted to hear more of it, "Don't hold back..." She unzipped his pants and gently held his stiff members. Gods, it was so warm even through his boxers. Jaune hissed and Ruby quickened her pace.
"W-Wait, hold on a sec." Jaune gasped. She (reluctantly) stopped her clumsy handjob and watched as he awkwardly shook off his pants quickly followed by his boxers. The reaper gasped when his clothes were fully off and she saw his dick in full. She didn't have a lot of references to compare it to - she'd never really been interested in porn or other naughty stuff before - but it was big, at least in her opinion. Long and thick with angry-looking veins that lined the length of the rigid rod.
The thought of it going inside her made Ruby feel faint and she unconsciously squeezed her legs shut.
Seeing her reluctance, Jaune awkwardly shuffled, dick swaying at the movement "Sorry...is it too much? We can sto-"
"N-No, I'm fine!" Ruby said just a bit too quickly. She took a deep breath and spread her legs open again. She didn't really know what to do here. Was she supposed to rub it again? Put it in her mouth? She regretted not studying up more on what to do, but heck, it wasn't like she was expecting this! Ask her how to kill a Goliath and she could give you a list, but sex? Ugh.
The only bright side, if you could even call it that, was that Jaune was just as clueless as she was, "So, um..." He licked his lips nervously and moved till his cock was aimed straight at her entrance, "I'm...gonna try to go in, okay?"
"O-Okay!" Ruby nodded and took a deep breath as Jaune slowly lowered himself into her.
Or at least he tried. His cock rubbed against her lower lips then slipped upwards due to how wet she was. Ruby gasped at the clumsy movement and moaned softly while Jaune flushed, "S-Sorry, let me just..." He adjusted his position and tried again, slower this time. Ruby watched, utterly entranced, as the head of his rock-hard shaft slowly but surely pushed itself through her entrance.
It felt...she didn't know how to describe it. It wasn't anything like she'd ever felt before. Her back arched in shock and she wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. Her next few breaths came out in short, ragged pants, and her pace quickened as he inserted more and more inches inside her tight walls. He kept going and going until...
The sudden shock of pain made her cry out. She wasn't completely clueless about how sex worked. A quick look down confirmed her theory: past the clear fluid and around his cock was a bit of blood.
"Damn it." Jaune hissed, "S-Should we stop?"
"No, keep going." She nodded and grit her teeth as he continued. It hurt at first, she couldn't deny that, but soon enough pain made way for pleasure and the only sounds in the room were that of flesh meeting flesh mixed with soft sighs and moans.
It wasn't the best or most amazing sex on Remnant, but it didn't have to be. They were doing it with each other and that was all that mattered, "Ruby..." Jaune led her right hand and gently squeezed it. He pulled out till just the head of his cock was inside her before inserting himself inside again. It wasn't just the sex that made it all so overwhelming (though it was definitely) a big part of it).
It was that they were both here together.
"R-Ruby...I'm gonna..."
"D-Do it inside," she gasped out. She knew it was careless; she didn't care. They could all be dead tomorrow.
Ruby shut her eyes tight as Jaune came and comforting warmth filled her insides. She squeezed Jaune's hand in turn and let out a few shallow breaths as his cock pumped her full of his seed. Gods, it was...amazing.
"I love you..." Jaune whispered.
"I love you too." She reluctantly let go of his hand so she could hug him again, just relishing in his warmth. The two of them stayed in that position for the rest of the night, taking comfort in each other's presence until the call of duty came for them. Right now, they weren't Huntsmen fighting for the fate of Remnant itself. They were just two people in love sharing a moment.
She remembered hugging Jaune's corpse till the warmth left him-
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruby shook her head and slapped her cheeks hard. No, none of that. The whole reason she'd come back was to fix things. Not just with Jaune, but for everyone else. Even after Salem had been beaten, things weren't easy for Remnant. Atlas had fallen and way too many people had died. She'd lost countless friends in the battles and many Huntsmen gave their lives for their happy ending. Pyrrha, Penny, Sun, Winter...she'd make sure to save them all.
And get into Jaune's pants, of course.
What? Just cause she was saving the world didn't mean she couldn't have fun! She cringed at the memory of her clumsy first time with him. While she'd cherish the experience forever, looking back on it, they were just so...inexperienced. It made sense that they were, but still. This time she'd make sure she was ready. No more fumbling around like kissless virgins. She was gonna rock Jaune's world!
And then, later when they'd happily graduated without their school being destroyed, she'd get a bun in the oven. She thought that maybe she'd had one back then, but after months of waiting, it became obvious that Jaune hadn't left her someone to remember him by...
She shook her head again. No bad thoughts! She was gonna change things for the better! Look out world, Ruby Rose was here to save the day!
A banging on the door knocked her out of her motivational thoughts, "Rose, get out here!" Weiss yelled, "I need to take a shower!"
"First come first serve, Weissy!" She giggled and hopped into the shower, ignoring the ice queen's ranting. She was kind of sad that she and Weiss weren't best friends anymore (yet?), but it was a small price to pay. She'd make sure Weiss had a happy ending too. She wouldn't have to live in a world where her older sister died and she was forced into taking the burden of becoming a Maiden.
Besides, she was sure she and Weiss would be besties again soon.
Ruby hummed to herself as she took a shower. She needed to pretty herself up if she was gonna bag Jaune early, but how to do it? She cursed her younger self's lack of interest in that stuff. She was undeniably cute, but her right now wasn't anything more than that. She never wore make-up and her outfits, while cute, didn't do a lot to emphasize her growing figure.
She needed to clean herself up...and she knew exactly who to ask for help.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Yang, we need to talk."
Yang looked up from her weights and raised a brow at Ruby, "What's up?" She set the barbells down at her side and brought a hand across her sweaty forehead. Seeing Ruby at the gym was a bit of a surprise. While her sister wasn't lazy or anything, she had a habit of spending all her time at the forge tinkering with Crescent Rose. Yang always said their bodies were their greatest weapons.
Ruby just stuck her tongue out and said her body couldn't shoot .50 bmg at x miles per second and bla bla bla.
"I need your help with something."
"Oh? Is it about that snotty rich girl?" Weiss was her name, apparently. Her partner Blake had a few choice words to say about her and talked about how glad she was that they weren't on the same team.
"Weissy? Nah, we're cool."
"Wasn't she glaring at you in class?" Yang raised a brow.
"She's just butthurt that I'm actually paying attention and she can't use it against me. I'll deal with her." Ruby waved a hand dismissively while Yang blinked. It wasn't like Ruby to use words like 'butthurt', "Whatever, it's not about her. It's actually something else. I...well, I need some money."
Yang sighed lightly and shook her head. Of course, she did. Uncle Qrow teased her about being the irresponsible sister, but Ruby was just as bad. If she wasn't splurging her allowance on new weapon parts and magazines, she was using it to buy baked goods from that super expensive store in downtown Vale. At least she spent her pocket money on fun stuff like new clothes or nights at a club.
"Oh? Begging big sis for an advance already, huh?" Yang chuckled. She did have some savings and she was willing to spot Ruby, but that didn't mean she wouldn't tweak her nose a bit.
"I wouldn't do it if I had any other choice, but it was out of my control." She crossed her arms and frowned.
"Out of your control? Yeah, I'm sure someone forced you to pick up that batch of double fudge brownies last week."
"Ugh, come on! Please, Yang? I promise I'll pay you back!" Ruby clasped her hands together.
"Tell me what you're buying first. I don't wanna give you anything and then come back to you pigging out."
"It's not food! It's...clothes." Yang blinked, and then she blinked again at the deadly serious look Ruby had. Clothes? While Ruby had her own sense of style, she didn't really care about buying new clothes unless Yang forced her to. Now here she was trying to buy new clothes all on her own.
"You're trying to buy clothes? You? Did your last outfit get destroyed while I wasn't looking?"
"Don't be a bitch, Yang." Ruby huffed. Again, Yang was caught flat-footed at the sudden curse, "Look, I'm at Beacon now. I can't keep wearing the same clothes I did back at Signal. It's time for a change."
"A change? What are you...ohohoho." Yang's lips curled up in a Cheshire grin, "This is about that guy you had your arms wrapped around a couple of days ago, isn't it?"
"So what if it is?" Ruby challenged.
"Oh, this is too cute! My little sister has her first crush!" Yang stood up and hugged her her.
"Ugh, Yang! Gross! You smell like sweat and B.O!" Ruby flailed around.
"Shhhh! Lemme have this!" Yang cooed, ignoring the looks of a few other gymgoers, "This is so adorable! I gotta tell Dad and Uncle Qrow!"
"Do whatever you want, but gimme the cash first!" Ruby pried herself away and stuck her tongue out, "Ugh, you haven't changed at all. I guess that's a good thing."
"Huh?"
"Nothing." Ruby shook her head, "So yeah, I'll pay you back next week. I should have something by then."
"Fine, fine, I'll lend you the cash. On one condition." Ruby grimaced while Yang grinned, "I get to go shopping with you. Think of it was some good old sisterly bonding time."
"Do you have to?" Yang just kept grinning, "Fine, just...don't be an ass. We'll leave in thirty minutes."
"Me? I would never!" Yang gasped in mock offense. Ruby rolled her eyes and stomped off, leaving the blonde to plan out her teasing itinerary. First, she'd have to tease her about puberty finally hitting and Ruby deciding that she wasn't actually gonna marry Crescent Rose. Then she'd tease her about whatever outfit she decided to get. Even if she was cussing now, it didn't change how her little sis was still so innocent and pure. She'd probably get an outfit that showed off her wrists. So scandalous!
Oh well, she'd be the supportive big sis all the way. This was Ruby's first crush, after all, and what kind of sister/sorta-mom figure would she be if she didn't push her all the way? Besides, that Jaune guy seemed harmless enough. Kinda like a big golden retriever.
Yang met up with Ruby at the docks and kept grinning the whole flight down to Vale. She was fully prepared to give Ruby some advice on what to wear. Maybe something just like the outfit she wore? A sleeveless shirt and some shorts would be good. Show off just a little bit more skin but not too much that Dad would be scandalized or blame her for being a bad influence. As if. Her? A bad influence? Psh.
She expected them to go to a department store. Instead, Ruby led her to...she didn't know how to describe it. She would've said goth, but not even goths wore that much leather. And those chokers didn't look like they were supposed to be for everyday use...
"Uh...Rubes, are you sure we're-"
"Yup!" she said, popping the P. Before Yang could react, she rushed off in a red blur and began picking up not just clothes, but make-up as well. Now Yang was getting worried. Ruby didn't do make-up. Not that she needed it - Rubes was hecking adorable - but she just didn't see the point of it all, or so she said. Yang sat down and prepared herself to comfort Ruby for being too eager. That was what a good big sis did.
It only took a few minutes for Ruby to step out of the changing room...and nearly give Yang a fucking heart attack.
What the fuck was she wearing? Yang rubbed her eyes with both hands and looked again to make sure she wasn't imagining things. Nope, still there. A red sheer top with a black bra underneath, black shorts that were so tight they practically clung to her ass, and torn stockings that left swathes of her pale skin open. Finishing off the ensemble was a pair of black high-heeled Fuck Me boots.
And she knew those were Fuck Me boots cause she owned a pair! Granted, she'd only used them once...three times, but she knew it when she saw it!
Yang opened her mouth to scream, to ask what the fuck Ruby was thinking, but all that came out were strangled gasps and half-formed words. Ruby raised a brow at the reaction, and it was only then that she saw the make-up. It was actually tasteful compared to her outfit - some red eyeshadow and some blush to add color to those pale cheeks - but combined with the outfit, she almost didn't recognize her innocent baby sis.
"W-What...?" Yang choked out.
"Alright, I guess I'm taking this." She turned on her high heels and tried to walk off to the counter. Yang grabbed her shoulders in a panic, "Hey, what's the big deal? I haven't paid for these yet!"
"What are you wearing?!" Yang shouted, ignoring the surprised and questioning looks from the other customers.
"Clothes. Duh."
"Don't take that tone with me, missy!" Yang snapped. It was weird going back to her 'Mom' voice, but damn it, this was necessary! "You are not going around dressed like that!"
"Oh really?" Ruby raised a brow and looked distinctly unimpressed. Before Yang could press the lecture, she looked her up and down, "How's the view from that glass house there, Yang?"
"That's...That's different!" Yang flushed. Yes, she was hot and she knew it, but this was...this was Ruby! Her innocent little sister! Her little Rubaby! "I thought you hated heels! You called them lady stilts!"
"Well, I'm a lady!" Ruby huffed.
"You're fifteen years old!" Yang threw her hands up, "Look, you're not wearing that, end of story. Go get something else."
"Hm...no."
Yang watched, utterly slack-jawed, as Ruby turned on her high heel and walked off to the counter again. She was so shocked that she stood frozen until Ruby paid for the goods and packed up her old clothes in a bag. Was this...Was this how mothers felt when their kids started their rebellious phase? She felt like she owed Dad an apology now. It was like her heart was being ripped out.
Was this...Was this her fault? Did she cause this? She'd always taken pride in being the cool big sis, the rebel who went out sneaking into nightclubs and getting into back alley brawls for extra cash. Had she corrupted Ruby with her thrill-seeking, devil-may-care lifestyle? Was the universe punishing her by forcing her to see just how corrupted her pure Rubaby had become?
"Oh, almost forgot!" Ruby doubled back and bought a thick leather collar with a chain attached. Yang choked again, "Alright, let's go!"
"Please tell me you're not wearing that!"
"Fine, I'm not wearing it. Now can we go?"
Ruby walked past her and Yang grabbed her wrist, "Wait...are you gonna make Jaune wear that?" Ruby didn't say anything; she didn't have to. The perverted little giggle she let out told her all she needed to know, "Oh Brothers, I think I'm gonna be sick..."
"Oh, so you can pick up boys in a nightclub and it's fine, but when I do it suddenly I'm destroying the natural order?" Ruby clicked her tongue.
"Th-That's different..." Yang said again, though it was weaker this time, "Is Vomit Boy putting you up to this? Is he making you think that you have to dress like...that to get him? Is he some kind of weirdo? Cause if so, me and him are gonna have words-"
Ruby suddenly put both hands on her shoulders. Despite the height difference between the two, Yang suddenly felt tiny as Ruby looked up at her with the brightest, sweetest smile she could muster.
"Yang, I love you and I'll cherish our bond forever...but if you ruin this for me, I will fucking destroy you? Got it." Yang nodded shakily, "Good! Now, I'm gonna get out of here. I gotta show Jaune my new outfit! I can't wait to see his reaction." She giggled. There was nothing cute or innocent about it. That was a laugh full of lust, of a girl who planned to get some action no matter what.
Yang collapsed on the bench and wept weak, broken tears.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roman was a survivor, that was something he'd never made any excuses for. People called him a lot of things for it - coward, weakling, cockroach - which he took with a cocky smile and a tip of his hat. So what if he was a coward? He was still breathing. Ideals like bravery and sacrifice sounded good on paper, but it was just an excuse for the old and greedy to toss the young and stupid into being their meat shields against the Grimm.
He'd decided long ago that he'd take what he wanted when he wanted it, and he'd step over anyone if it meant living to see another day. Neo excepted, of course, but she was special like that.
That was why he found himself working for that megalomaniac with the fire fetish. Cinder Fall was her name, the edgiest fake name if he'd ever heard it. Call him whatever you want, but at least he wasn't unimaginative. If she had a dog he imagined she'd call it something like Ash or Flame.
Sadly, as unimaginative as his new boss was, she was also fucking terrifying and had him by the balls. Normally, he would've had Neo slit the throat of anyone who tried to order the two of them around, but this Cinder doll was more than the average goon. She was strong, sure, but she somehow managed to get the White Fang to work for her even though she was Human. The only thing those Animals cared about was strength, so that said a lot about her.
Such a shame. He liked Vale, he really did, but if it was a choice between his and Neo's life and a whole kingdom of faceless nobodies, he'd choose the two of them in a heartbeat. He was a survivor, and he'd keep doing it till he was old and gray.
"Alright, you animals! Move it! Let's load these things up!" Roman shouted. A few of the White Fang turned to glare at him, though he paid them no mind. They didn't like him? Well, he didn't like them either. The only reason they were working together was 'cause of that bitch in the red dress. These unimaginative cretins could go pound sound for all he cared.
Roman looked down at the barren docks and sighed. He knew he should've been happy that things were going smoothly, but that didn't change how utterly banal this all was. Just a few years ago, he was the most famous thief in Vale, if not all of Remnant. He stole jewelry, priceless artifacts, even a wig made out of pure ivory. Now he was stealing Dust. Sure it was profitable, but it was all so...mundane. He felt like any other back alley criminal.
"Hold it right there!"
The gentleman thief's head snapped to the source of the (oddly familiar) squeaky voice and he blinked. There, standing all by her lonesome, was little Red. She looked...different. Roman didn't know whether to laugh or look away at her outfit. Roman was a man of admittedly few scruples - he was willing to help destroy Vale, after all - but he was no pervert nor was he into jailbait. He wasn't Junior.
"Have a habit of interrupting me, don't you, Red?" Roman sighed and twirled his cane. Most of the animals around him stopped what they were doing to look at the intruder, "You know, I know they don't teach you Huntsmen a lot, but I'm pretty sure you can still count. There's a lot more of us than there are of you."
"Didn't help you last time." Red snorted.
Roman sneered. Cocky little thing, wasn't she? "There were less of us back then and you still couldn't get me even with Goodbitch's help. Why don't you turn around and go on back home? Isn't it past your bedtime?"
"Big talk coming from you, old man."
"I'm only 32!" he snapped. Roman didn't consider himself a vain man, but he was touchy about his age, "Last warning. Back off before you get hurt. I don't want the city crying foul cause a kid stuck her nose into my business."
"Yeah, that's funny. Here's my counter-offer." Red clapped her hands and smiled. For some reason he couldn't explain, Roman suddenly felt terrified, "You and all your little terrorist pals put your hands up and tell Vale's finest everything you know about Cinder and her plans." He froze. How did she... "If you don't, I'm gonna kick the shit out of all of you and make sure you're all breathing through tubes by the time I'm done. Savvy?"
"Heh...b-big talk, Red, but I think your bark is worse than your bite!" Roman gulped. Why was he so damn scared?
"So...is that a no?" Her smile widened and she unfurled that scythe of hers, "Good, I was hoping to let off some steam."
Less than five minutes later and Roman plus his entire group of White Fang were sprawled out across the docks. Ruby kept her word and made sure that they were still alive, but that didn't mean she was gentle with them. Hey, it wasn't like she had much reason to. For as much as Roman talked himself up, he was nothing more than a coward willing to help kill hundreds of thousands of people just to make sure he survived. She didn't feel sorry for him.
"Hey, Roman. Still hear me?" She nudged his side with her boot." He groaned weakly, his face looking more like a lumpy fruit than an actual person, "You're gonna tell the cops you have information the headmaster of Beacon wants to know, got it? Then you're gonna tell him all about Cinder."
"Mhprhgh."
"If you don't, I'm gonna come back and finish the job. 'Kay?" She smiled brightly. Roman shivered and cried even though his punched fruit-looking face, "Yeah, cool. Oooh, there's the cops! I better stay and make sure Neo doesn't show up, huh? Yeah, I know about her too, so don't even try."
She compressed Crescent Rose again then stretched her arms above her head. Today was some good work. She'd stopped the heist and done it without Blake having to run off. Next, she had to stop all those crazies from ramming a train through Mt. Glenn...or maybe she should leave that to the headmaster? She could just drop an 'anonymous tip' at his desk and he'd send Uncle Qrow to investigate. He was more than good enough to deal with some terrorists.
Oh, but she also had to talk to Blake about the White Fang. Sure, she stopped them now and Mt. Glenn later, but there were still a bunch of them around, and that crazy Adam guy was here too. She had to stop him before he cut off Yang's arm and stalked Blake across Anima like a crazy ex. All she had to do was figure out how to broach the topic subtly just like she did with Jaune's transcripts.
Decisions, decisions. She'd deal with it tomorrow. Right now, she was pooped and deserved some Jaune cuddles for doing such a good job!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ruby's speedrunning this timeline. Docks heist foiled and Roman stopped. Now she's gonna deal with Mt. Glenn and later the stolen Paladin plus Adam Taurus. Nothing bad will ever happen in this timeline. EVER.
Meanwhile, Poor Jaune will continue to be hassled by a super strong and thirsty Huntress who believes they're destined to be together. Not sure whether to envy or pity him.
Questions:
1. Some people find Ruby's behavior to be yandere and/or toxic due to the gaslighting last chapter. Gotta admit I didn't even really think about that since that was more meant to portray that she was bad at keeping a low profile. Do you think her behavior makes her bad for Jaune?
2. What do you guys think of Ruby in general? Her POV makes it clear she does want a happier ending not just for herself, but the way she acts might be creepy or off-putting, as mentioned in the last chapter.
Comments

2024-01-18 21:45:41 +0000 UTC1) Ruby is indeed kind of a Yandere here and very much toxic. HOWEVER, I fail to see why its an issue. 2) Ruby is super wholesome! She WILL halp u whatever u want it or not.
