Father's Keeper
Added 2023-11-13 16:59:32 +0000 UTCJust a small fic where Ruby and Yang are overprotective for Tai to a yandere degree. Tell me if you guys like it. People seemed to dig yanderes in the past.
Anyway, I'll be making the harem commission and then PI Jaune after. We'll see how people react to it.
For anyone interested in making a commission, email me at: storylover543 gmail . com

Taiyang walked into his house with a smile on his face and a pep in his step, something both Ruby and Yang were quick to notice. The two of them were sitting on a couch playing some kind of fighting game and shared a look at his expression, "Hey, Dad. What's with you?" Yang asked, looking up from the game. He never really got the point of those. The two of them could fight way better than pixels on a screen.
"Oh, nothing."
"You're smiling. That means either something good happened or we're having broccoli for dinner tonight." Ruby stuck her tongue out at that and Tai laughed. His youngest always hated veggies and that didn't change even when she entered her teens. Funny how a girl that could kill a horde of beowolves was still helpless when it came to eating her greens.
"Really, it's no big deal." Tai grinned.
"Uh-uh, you're acting coy, which means you want us to ask. Spill it." Yang rolled her eyes.
"Well...alright!" Yang rolled her eyes again. She reminded him more and more of Qrow by the day. Hopefully, she didn't booze as hard, "Well...you two know Camille over in the Little Mama's Bakery, right?"
"Ms. Evergreen? Yeah! She always gives me extra cookies when I buy from them." Ruby smiled, swinging her legs cutely, "What about her?"
"Well...we got to talking and we hit it off." Tai laughed, "Turns out we have a lot in common. We agreed to go to dinner tomorrow."
"Woah, now. Someone sounds eager." Yang grinned, "You two dating now, pops?"
"No! Well, not yet." Tai rubbed the back of his head, "We're just going to dinner to see if it works out. If it doesn't? Well, then there's nothing wrong with that. But...I think this might be more serious than the last couple of times I tried to date again." His expression fell slightly, "Are you two...okay with this? I mean-"
"Dad, it's been twelve years. You deserve to find someone new," Yang said kindly. There was no trace of her usual sass and she looked up at him with a soft, sincere smile, "Look, we're not gonna go 'wicked stepdaughter' on whoever you're dating. Just make sure you don't get hurt, okay?"
"Yep. You deserve to be happy, Dad," Ruby chirped, looking up and giving him the most adorable smile.
Tai's heart melted at their unconditional love and support, "Oh, you girls!" He picked them both up and hugged them tight.
"Ugh, Dad! No!" Yang tried to push him off to no avail.
"I did not consent to this!" Ruby squawked after, arms and legs flailing. They could've easily broken the hold, but they just stayed there complaining. Tai laughed and kissed the tops of their heads, earning more half-hearted protests.
"Alright. Well, I gotta get ready." He let go of them both, "It's been a while since your old man's been in the saddle."
"I'll say. You're dating pretty young there too, ain't ya?" Yang crossed her arms and raised a brow, though there was no heat in the accusation, "How old is she again? 25?"
"Camille's 27, thank you very much." Twelve years his junior, which was a coincidence he didn't like to think about. He was sure there were a few people who'd look at them oddly for their age disparity, but it was hardly the oddest thing on Patch. Camille was a grown woman who could make her own choices, "And I'm young at heart!"
Ruby and Yang looked at each other silently and then burst out laughing. Tai sighed at the blatant disrespect. No matter what he did, he never could convince his daughters that he was a cool dad who was in with the kids. Not like Qrow.
"Yeah, laugh it up. I still gotta get ready."
"Don't worry, dad. I'm sure it'll go great!" Ruby cheered.
"And if it doesn't...well, there's other fish in the sea, right?" Yang said.
Tai rolled his eyes and left the room, leaving the two by themselves. The reaper and the brawler waited till he was completely out of sight before their expressions suddenly changed. Gone were the easy smiles and bright eyes, replaced instead by scarily blank looks and empty gazes. The two looked at one another and they both stood, making preparations for what they had to do.

Camille Evergreen thought that things were finally looking up.
She'd mustered up the courage to ask out Tai and he'd said yes! Oh, she'd been so over the moon when she heard his answer. She'd had a crush on him for a couple of years, many of the women in Patch did, but few were willing to take the plunge. He was a Huntsman, which already made him almost unattainable for a regular civilian, but he also had two daughters.
Ruby and Yang were well-known names in Patch. The reaper was nice but eccentric and obsessed with weapons, even among her peers at Signal. Despite that, her cheerful personality and desire to help earned her the adoration of many. Meanwhile, Yang had ensnared the hearts of many of the village youths. Looks that would put a model to shame and strength that let her fight against an Ursa barehanded. It was no surprise the two of them were popular.
Camille always wondered why Tai didn't start dating sooner. Even if he was a Huntsman, he was sure a few of the other women would've tried their luck. She knew of a couple that did, but for some reason, they said the dates didn't work out. They refused to give out any details, just laughing and saying that 'it just wasn't meant to be'. So weird, but she wasn't complaining since it gave her a shot.
Camille hummed to herself as she locked up the bakery for the night. She and Tai were going to have dinner tomorrow and she couldn't wait! Oh, she hoped he enjoyed her cooking. She worked really hard to-
Something was slung over her head and everything went dark. Camille's eyes widened and she struggled, but the grip around her arms was ironclad. She tried to kick back at whoever was holding her. It didn't work and she was quickly forced on her knees before her face was pressed harshly against the unforgiving ground, "H-Help me! Please hel-"
A sharp pain in her neck caused her voice to fail and her consciousness faded.
When Camille came to again, she found herself strapped by her hands and legs on a metal chair. Up above was a dim fluorescent light that did nothing to brighten the dark room she suddenly found herself in, "Ugh..." She struggled weakly, her arms and legs not even budging the chains that kept her wrists and ankles locked. Her body felt like it was weighed down by rocks.
"She's awake," an oddly familiar voice said.
"Alright, good," another eerily familiar voice replied.
Camille looked up and gasped softly as Yang and Ruby stepped out of the shadows. She considered herself friendly to both of them, which was why she felt terrified at the looks on their faces. It wasn't anger, as scary as that would've been. No, their eyes were empty and they looked down at her like dirt under their boots. It was so different from their usual bright smiles.
"Wh-What's going on?" Camille asked weakly. She still felt so groggy.
"Just wanted to make sure you knew the ground rules," Yang said. Camille shivered as the blonde cupped her jaw and made her look up to meet her suddenly red eyes, "We heard from Dad that you two are having dinner tomorrow. Congratulations, by the way."
"Th...Thank you?" Camille said, mostly for lack of anything else to say.
"He looked so happy when he told us." Ruby smiled. It was hollow, "And we like seeing Dad happy."
"O...Okay?"
"So, we're here to give you a...heads up." The grip on her jaw tightened enough to hurt slightly, "Dad's a great guy and he's been hurt two times too many. Once cause his first wife was a worthless sack of shit, and the second because his second wife bravely died in the line of duty. He shut down after that. It wasn't a good time. He was broken, and we don't want to see him break again."
"No, we don't," Ruby added, leaning forward and silver eyes bearing down on her, "So when we heard all about how you two are planning dinner? Well, we couldn't just sit around, could we?"
"No, we couldn't, Rubes," Yang replied, "So, this is how it's going to go. You're at a crossroads here, Camille. Option 1, you have your dinner with Dad tomorrow and make it clear it's not happening. You two aren't going out yet, so Dad won't really care. That way, he doesn't get hurt and all three of us pretend this little meeting never happened. You go back to your little bakery."
"A-And the second option?" Camille asked, her words slurred through her forcefully pursed lips.
"You date him." Ruby grinned. It was just as empty as before, "If the two of you work out? Then great! Dad deserves to be happy and you could do it. But..." Her expression darkened, "If you ever break up or break his heart? We will hunt you." Camille shivered, "There's nowhere on Remnant where you can go where we won't find you. It won't be quick. We'll do it slow to make sure you understand even a fraction of the pain you gave him."
"We'll be keeping an eye on you too while you're going out," Yang added casually, "I mean, you've got some big shoes to fill! Wouldn't want you to not shape up, right?"
"Y-You're both crazy...!" Camille teared up, but neither sister gave her any sympathy.
"We're just two kids who love their dad." Yang beamed, "Oh, and don't bother telling anyone, especially Dad. Not if you wanna keep breathing, at least. You just stay quiet like a good girl or you'll make us mad. And trust me, you wouldn't like us when we're mad."
"Th-Then what is this?!"
"Us being nice," Yang said it like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"So..." Ruby asked softly, voice barely above a whisper, "What are you going to pick?"
-------------
Tai came into the house with slumped shoulders, "What's wrong, Dad?" Ruby asked worriedly, immediately getting up from the couch to greet him.
"Dinner...didn't go so well." Tai sighed. He thought they'd hit it off, he really did, but the entire time they were together, Camille was distant and kind of jumpy. Then when he offered to cook for her next time, she'd just shaken her head and told him that it wouldn't work out.
"Aww." Ruby stood on her tiptoes and patted his head.
"Well, there's other fish in the sea," Yang said, coming out of the kitchen, "What'd she say to you?"
"She just said it wouldn't work out. I just...I don't get it. She seemed so happy yesterday!"
"People can change their minds quick. It happens." Yang shrugged sympathetically, "You'll find someone else, Dad, don't you worry."
"Well...actually." He pulled out his scroll and tapped the screen, "I wasn't gonna say anything since I got the notification before Camille asked me to dinner, but I got a match. Remember that dating site I signed up for?"
"The one where Uncle Qrow made your profile?" Ruby raised a brow.
"Yeah..." Tai sighed. He loved Qrow like a brother, but damn if the man didn't make questionable choices, "Didn't put in a shirtless selfie like he suggested, but I connected with someone." Another tap and he showed them the picture. A beautiful young woman with dark hair, pale skin, and yellow eyes. Her looks were slightly marred by the evil smile she gave, but he figured that was just her being quirky.
"iBurn? Sounds like a keeper." Yang snorted.
"Maybe, but she says she's a Huntress, so maybe we'll have more in common," Tai said hopefully.
"I think you need to take another look at your taste in women," Ruby said.
"Hey!" He grabbed Ruby and gave her a playful noogie, causing her to flail, "I'll contact her and see where it goes. You miss every shot you don't take, right?"
"Good luck. Hope you don't get burned, old man."
"Har har."
Tai left the room to start messaging his match. Just like before, Ruby and Yang's expressions shifted and they looked at one another. A Huntress this time. Different from the previous civilians they'd 'talked' to. This time, they'd have to do some research and make more preparations.
All to keep their Dad safe and happy, of course.

Man, poor Camille. And poor Tai. Cinder's stronger than Ruby and Yang, but Yandere logic dictates that they somehow manage to capture her anyway. I don't feel bad for her.
I may or may not make a second chapter where the two do just that. Depends on whether you guys like it.
