The Bullet returns, George Cannon wrestles, The Valiants talk and Bobby Heenan forgets to shave

Couldn't quite get this one done over the weekend but I'm not trying to pretend this is a July upload or anything.

The biggest item in this batch is an assortment of clips & a few (mostly) full episodes of George Cannon's Superstars of Wrestling. The clips that are in really good quality come from the old Beta Classics set that I'm working on while the other stuff is from The Greek. The 1983 episodes were previously uploaded by me to YouTube and I'm including them here to try and get everything in one place. The 1982 video is "new" and has some interesting names on it for a George Cannon show like Larry Zbyszko & David Sammartino. We even get the advertised card for November 6th 1982 at the Cobo Arena and...it's not hard to see why Ole and Vince found this was fertile ground for expansion. Very interesting time period though and if you're interested in seeing more George Cannon footage you are in luck because over at the Fish and Chips patreon page https://www.patreon.com/user/posts?u=110961841  there is a new tier where master tape videos of George Cannon's Superstars of Wrestling will be posted. They are being converted right off the Umatic tapes that have been kept all these years by the Cannon family.

The Bullet is back! This time in the All American Wrestling Federation (where he should have been the perennial champion just based on the name) I'm always amused that they had Ronnie P Gossett on color commentary for this show. The highlight of these episodes for me is the 8.25 episode having the sign off and then someone realized 'oh crap we need to fill more time' and having announcer Randy Atcher come back to throw to a highlight video.

Nothing quite as pretty as the master tape episodes I've posted recently but I've got some more ICW! The first episode is from (I think) some time in 1980 and has your standard crappy VHS VQ from that era. This is still watchable and worth the time as you still have the early ICW crew of guys like Bob Roop and Bob Orton Jr still around. The other two episodes are basically just a Memphis B-show although there is a Randy Savage vs Paul Christy - Cage match (called by Randy Hales) on one of them. I almost didn't post the other one because it was just all Memphis but there's some matches on there I don't remember seeing before, especially the Randy Savage & Lanny Poffo vs The Interns match.

Do you like Jimmy and Johnny Valiant promos? Well if you do, I've got good news! I went through a DVD of WWA stuff and at least half of it was just The Valiants and Duke George interviews. I put all them together in one video and just cut out the other stuff that I didn't already have on the Drive. There's a pretty interesting match with Jimmy Valiant w/ Duke George vs Dick the Bruiser w/ Eddie Creachman in there that I was pretty excited about finding. There's also a Bobby Heenan interview where he's clearly used the only razor he had in the bag on his forehead instead of for shaving.

Rounding out this batch of uploads is another five episodes of 1989 Southern Championship Wrestling from Georgia. I haven't finished making listings on this one yet but you've got a heavy dose of Mike Golden, Mr Atlanta, The Nightmare & Jimmy Powell, Ivan Koloff makes another appearance, Dustin Rhodes is teaming with Dutch Mantell and THE BULLET~! is there too.

Oh, and I also put up a master tape of the disastrous 1994 UWF live special 'Blackjack Brawl' which you should at least watch for the Little Tokyo match because Little Tokyo rules.

Comments

I also just got another batch of lucha magazines sent to me. I just need to rename 200 files to fit my system and then I should have those up.
