---------------------

Hey everyone! I thought it would be a fun idea to start uploading archives of all my really old stuff from waaaay back that you may not have seen before. I'll be doing things like scanning old boxes of papers, high-school sketchbooks and stuff. No matter how cringe it is, I commit to uploading it for you!

This started because for the past month I've been going through all my belongings and tidying up things I have in storage to try to downsize. I kept finding all this old art that I never put online so I wanted to share it with the folks who care about my art the most. Hopefully you can get a laugh out of it X) Seeing where artists start out is always fun to see.

My journey into making comics pretty much started with this little Knuckles fan comic. I'd tried to do book illustrations before on single pages of paper but after I started getting really into the UK Sonic the Comic around 1994 I suddenly really wanted to try making comics of my own. I was 12 or 13 at the time and the only comics I'd read were the British 2000AD sci-fi comics my brother would collect. He was collecting STC before me, then Sonic 3 and Knuckles became a thing and suddenly I was way more invested in SEGA stuff (lol fangirl).

At the time I was going through some really grim stuff with being homeless, poor as hell, and living in a refuge with all kinds of strangers and crazy. So the house had this empty room for toys and storage stuff for the children workers that would come around sometimes to do activities. It was normally locked to stop people stealing things but they let me in to sit at the desk and draw. So after school each day I'd sit in this little box room with my radio and a stack of paper to draw comics. It was all I really had going for me at the time so it gave me a lot of time to focus and concentrate on getting better. The internet wasn't really a thing back then so I didn't have that to distract me either haha.

Little me made a big progress jump  in the space of a year. Kinda makes me wish I could do that now lol.

I had to take phone photos of these because the paper size changes to some weird massive impossible to scan size at one point. I used to draw on anything I could find and someone at the office gave me a stack of printer offcuts to use. Also the weird yellowed edges is because I didn't own a folder to put my pages into to flip it like a real comic so i sellotaped all the edges together into comic format. The glue destroyed the paper over time XD;

Anyway! Prepare for bad art and story! You've been warned ~ More coming soon this month.
