One Time Pads intro

Pt 1:
"For every billion dollar problem there is a ten dollar solution"
Is there an encryption so strong not even the NSA nor quantum computers could crack it?
Yes.
Is it expensive?
No.
Welcome to One Time Pads, an invention that, while not new, saw its rise and prominence in WW1 & 2, the Cold War and the Falkland. In fact, in some cases, its still used today (see numbers stations). A one time pad is a cryptography device (paper), that takes plain text (your message), associates the alphanumerics and/or code words in the message with any number (most are associated with single or double digit numbers, this turns plaintext into key text) and then runs this stream of numbers through the Cypher (one time pad).
The one time pad is then discarded (burned) and a new one is used. This ensures that there is no repeated Cypher used, meaning no matter how strong code breaking gets, it can't break this as there is no repeated pattern. It also means that when adversaries break the dmr or p25 cryptography (or listen in to analog), they are met with an iron curtain that cannot be defeated. This is, as long as the same pad is not used, and that the pad does not become compromised. Whuch is one more reason to codify language (this also saves time). Further, everyone has to have the same one time pad and hear the message so that the same pad cannot be used by the receiving party...Remember security works in layers, don't rely on just one. These are cheap to make which is covered jn the next post, or watch the
