Maybe it was just in my head then. I just felt like people were speculating occasionally about if Zorian would end up in a relationship with any of the female cast after the loop finally ended. Ah well. At least we won't have to see any innocent little girls being traumatised by chatty spiders describing how delicious dogs and cats are in excessive detail........

I outright told people when they ask that I don't intend to write any actual romance into MoL and they kind of accepted that. Caterpillars are also cheaper to feed than spiderlings, I assume, being herbivores and all. Though it depends on the specific type of plant they like to eat.

I guess that's one way to sidestep the shipping debates you got with MoL. Anyway, looks like Shamshir is a troll. Though he at least did seem to care about not harming innocent bystanders, so not scum. Just a bit of a bastard powerful enough to get away with doing what he wants and likes to mess around when he gets the chance. Even if he was really counting on Marcus being half as good as his reputation to deal with that fireball. Still noteworthy that Marcus was pretty surprised by the Rank 8 claim, but didn't seem intimidated or anything. And we still haven't heard clearly what rank he's at himself. The fact that at Spirit rank, while it's easy to tell when others are at least that level, it hard to tell if another mage is higher ranked or by how much, is also an interesting tidbit. Marcus is clearly letting everyone think he's a spirit rank mage while definitely being higher. The only question is how much? In any case, the kids should keep in mind that caterpillars aren't that bad. After all, they could be raising mind reading spiders instead!
