the backstory to both the songs: maria - hwasa has recieved a lot of hate in the kpop sphere, for her body, personality, everything really and she wrote it as a message to herself and to others that u have to leave those who hate behind and love urself first! i love my body - prior to releasing the song she has been called "fat" and "unpretty" by korean standards by the industry before and after debut (people even tried to petition to remove her from the group) and before releasing the song she was investigated the by the police for public indecency at a university concert, which was a completely baseless claim, and in her own words the song made her feel confident in herself again and so the song is an f u to people who police others bodies and what they do with them i would definitely recommend "im a b", which continues similar messages visually and lyrically !!!
