Gift of Hedone: Poll - Dialogue Vocal Accompaniment
Added 2024-08-14 23:00:01 +0000 UTCHello you wonderful deviants,
I wanted to see what you prefer when it comes to games that don't necessarily include full voice acted dialogue - what you prefer.
Option 1:
- Don't worry about any Voice Acting when you speak to a person, just keep VFX to moans SFX etc.
Option 2
- When you speak to someone they say a generic "Hi", "hello", "how are you" as an acknowledgement of interaction and a small window into the NPCs voice/tone
Option 3
- "Gibberish" or "Fake Language", some games add like a fake language, (examples - Sims, Banjo Kazooie) to accompany the dialogue - that way its universal.
If you have any other suggestions please let me know, im open to exploring alternatives :)

2024-08-15 23:00:09 +0000 UTCI think is better some freaking audio to make more like talk and nothing like you are only read a text while char is taking a orgasm

2024-08-15 12:15:24 +0000 UTCA mix, they say hi once at interaction, gibberish as text comes across the screen, and in very very important story moments there's voice acting from like the goddess or the BBEG, but hero only speaks in gibberish

2024-08-15 04:55:10 +0000 UTCVoice acting is quite expensive, I think option 1 when done well can deliver a great experience! Option 2 is nice because it can allow the player to continue reading the NPC's dialogue in the voice they heard before, but it's not necessary

2024-08-15 03:51:50 +0000 UTCI feel 3 can bring a little humor into the game

2024-08-15 00:58:54 +0000 UTCHey John, That is a really good point, it would give a great emphasis to serious or important lines, thats a brilliant point thank you!

2024-08-15 00:36:27 +0000 UTCI don’t think you need voice actors for a pixelated game like this. I think Undertale is a great example as to how dialogue can work in video games without voice actors.

2024-08-14 23:55:02 +0000 UTCBut then again could draw away from the initial intent of the game being as it is.

2024-08-14 23:33:16 +0000 UTCVoice acting can become costly for startup game designers, keeping it simple and simlish like animal crossing and the sims would be the easiest to do with some code and a voice to text module

2024-08-14 23:28:02 +0000 UTCI like option 2, then you can save the real good dialog for sexy scenes or the big named baddie have lines

2024-08-14 23:12:30 +0000 UTCTwo us really good, it can add a lot of flavor to a character, and truthfully if there ever is more voice acting for say bigger roles or important scenes it would be less jarring
